*sigh* Is it just me, or am I just too stupid for that ._. I got a problem: I wanna play NTSC games on a PAL Wii, but i only can play those games in black and white. I tried Trucha Signer, but i noticed that it can´t read new Wii Isos. I tried for example Oboro Muramasa and Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, but it always lets Trucha Signer closed.

I need help ._. Maybe there is another program for that, but i can´t find it T_T

USB Loader is being a real cunt. All of the versions, too. I'm running a Seagate 320 GB that supposedly works according to the compatibility list so long as I plug it in after HBC is loaded. I've tried Ultimate, I've tried the 1.5 standard one and a handful of others and none seem to work.

I've done all the little tricks like replugging it in when it does the timer countdown from 30 seconds to reformatting it to NTSC or exFAT then forcing it to WBFS through command line [the program wouldn't do it for me]. After forcing it to format to WBFS, I managed to load and "transfer" some files over through the WBFS manager and it looks fine, but as soon as I load USB Loader from HBC it says partition not found or some such, even though it is partitioned. When I attempt to let it partition it for me, it gives me the -6 error people mentioned earlier except most of them figured out how to fix it - for some reason I'm stuck.

Any ideas? For whatever it's worth I'm running the latest Wii update, I have HBC installed and everything else like WAD installer works fine. I did the cIOS rev10 update prior to this too.

You need to repartition the hard drive. Create 2 partitions, both fat 32. The FIRST can be used for media files or roms you wish to use on the Wii. The SECOND partition should now be able to be formatted from fat 32 to WBFS using the WBFS Manager. I have found that WBFS is picky and always has to be the last partition on a disk. I have a 320gig HD (white WD my passport) the first 10 gigs is for roms and nand backup storage and the rest is WBFS formatted for iso's. Hopefully that works for you.

Hi all,

A moment of your time, please...
I've hacked a handful of Wiis ok in the past (my kids' being one) but this one stumps me. The problem: ISO Loader, after successfully recognising the Disk ID, then bluescreens with error -002.

After researching the problem & trying a few things (e.g. installing Rev2 of Gamma, etc.), I've decided to revert to stock 3.4E Wii (apart from Twilight Hack already in place & HBC installed) & then re-install the cIOSes that allow Wad Manager, ISO Loader, etc. Does that make sense to anyone?

Which do people think is the best firmware for HB & ISOs - 3.2E (UK)? I think that's where I'm currently heading. Also, for peace of mind, How exactly do I check the current revision of both IOS & cIOS? And, of the two uninstallers (cIOS-Uninstaller & IOS-Uninstaller), what's the sequence of usage for back-tracking? I'm sure I read in an nfo file a recommendation to use the other first...

I've been working this one out pretty-much 'on my own' so far, but does anyone have a favourite package for my task at hand? Or an A1 walkthrough? I'd be very grateful. Edit: I've just found the Emperor of Canada's instructions; over 1300 peeps have thanked him, so it pretty-much must work (or be a pebcak =] ).

Thanks, all, for your time & patience,

zarathustra =]

Has anyone tried configuring a SNES VC .WAD to use the WIIMOTE instead of the Classic Controller?
Most SNES games don't use anymore buttons than the Wiimote has. And it would be really nice to not have to use my short corded Gamecube controller.

Hi guys,

I've just recently softmodded my Wii and im basically a newb at this--i get the gist of it, but im not that experienced.
I did the cioscorp way where you can load games from the disc channel and my version is 4.0U
The problem is that i can't run my Animal Crossing City Folk and Punch Out!! backups whereas i could before.

In the disc channel, everything looks fine, the logo background appear. But once i press start, it gives me an disk error message.

It says: An error has occurred. Press the eject button, remove the Game Disc, and turn the power off. Please read the Wii Operations manual for more information.

Before you guys start speculating, there is nothing wrong with the disc (I've played it for the past 2 days without a problem and it even worked 3 hours before i made this post)

I think the problem sprouted from me installing IOS38, 53, and 55. I did this because my friend (who was burning me a copy of Madworld) said i needed one of those IOS's to run the game.
And so...being the do-first-think-later person I am, i installed it. Now i can't run my newer backups on the disc channel (i.e. ACCF and Punchout), but i can run my other games (PBR and Warioware) fine.
This is not that big of a deal since i can run it off the back-up loader, but it would be nice to find out why this happened.

If you guys can help me with this nuisance, i would greatly appreciate it.

Doesn´t work ._. If i do Force Pal 60 and start the game, the screen becomes green >.< I tested everything with Backup Loader and Gecko, but yeah i keep failing with the colours T_T

I just need another program than Trucha Signer, where i can manually change the Iso. Trucha Signer does not work with the games I listed, but for older games it works fine. Don´t know where the problem is

Hi guys,
I'm looking for some guidance. I have a jap wii with d2ckey. A few months ago, I had to downgrade my wii from 3.3J to 3.2J by installing some.... stuff...of which I can't really remember.

After being away from the scene for a while, I've found out that the latest version to play some new games is 4.0. Is there a step by step idiot proof guide to do this? (or is there an alternative to upgrading the firmware?) I recall seeing one to go from 3.3J to 3.2J. =S

Btw, to go from 3.3J to 3.2J I had to install the homebrew channel so I've already got that on my wii.

Thanks for any help at all!... Please don't shoot me for being clueless!

- I am currently running 3.2U, Originally 3.4U
- I used bannerbomb and bootmii to install HBC = no problem
- I used IOS Downgrader, Custom VM and Cios Downgrader to get to 3.2U = still no problems

However, I went to the "Safe 3.3 Upgrade" and did the "Yes" to IOS51, "Yes" to the Patch, and "No" to the Shop Channel.
Everything went well and said 'press any key'. Well, it had frozen to the point of unplugging the back.
Now, if I try to access the HBC, the screen goes blank and freezes. I've unplugged this thing more than I'd like to.

I feel I am SO close! What can I do to remedy the situation to get the HBC running again?

I think you ment "SAFE 3.4" cause IOS51 was used by the past Wii Shop Channel, delete thru the Wii's data management the HBC and reinstall it again, and run IOS and cIOS downgraders, you might want to stay at 3.2 better, just use WiiSCU v2 to update the Wii Shop Channel if you need to, 3.3 or 3.4 have no great feature for having them as FW, I really think even 4.0 is better than these ones..!!
smile.gif
I deleted the HBC and tried to reinstall. It gave me the "Success" but froze when trying to go back to the Wii menu. Unplug, HBC is in the menu, but black screen and freezes when I try to start it. Damn, I should've installed Bootmii as boot2 and did a NAND backup, because I don't know how I'm going to get HBC back up and running. Is there any joy to updating through Nintendo to 4.0 and trying the new 4.0 hacks?

HI all:
A quick question.
I have a wii with firmware 3.2U and the HBC installed and a D2CKey. I tried to play punch out wii and it asked me to update. I Have read that I have to install some ios to be able to run it with updating and loosing the capability to run homebrew.
I plan to install first bootmii and do a back up of my NAND. Then I will install IOS 38, 53 and 55 (in that order).
Then I will install cIOS_rev10.
Finalle I will install the patched IOS60 and then do the Nintendo update using the internet.
Is this correct? Or should I install this cIOS (cIOS38_rev13b) instead of the other one?
Thanks for your help.

I need help as I am going to buy a new Wii soon and the guides are quite hard to follow. Anyone willing to help a newbie out? I am planning to buy a PAL/UK Wii and I was wondering will it be able to play NTSC/other regions games, and do I need anything special? Will a modchip be needed (which one to choose)?

At the moment from what I've read, we need to softmod the wii using bananabomb method (do you need any original disc to do it?) and then install cIOS (not quite sure what this it, but i think v9/v10 is the current stable release)? After that we'll need to install a USB Loader (preferablly GX) and then we can play all the games downloaded online? Will this machine be able to play backup dvds without a modchip?

Anything I should know before I start modding so that I wont break my system?

Thanks.

Hi all. Kinda lost in the world of Wii hacking/modding now.

I think my Wii is on 3.2E. I have a an old wiikey. Cant remember the firmware on this either, but the last thing I played was Super Mario Galaxy I think when it first came out.

Now I am interested in playing new backups, Virtual Console and WiiWare games. What steps do I have to do to be able to do this? Links to all the guides I need would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Only if you want to use the latest WiiShop Channel and the HBC1.0.3

exactly, you overwrited the cIOSes 38-53-55 with official IOSes without backup support, re-install those cIOSes if you want your newer games to work as they used to...!!
