No Man's Sky to get online multiplayer

IMG_8015.JPG

No Man's Sky has already announced that it has an upcoming major content in the pipeline--one called NEXT. However, today, we got some new details about what we'll be getting with this new update. The most significant of which is that of the new online multiplayer feature. You can now play simultaneously with other players, building and adventuring throughout the world. Racing and dogfighting in aerial vehicles was also mentioned. This update is set to go live for all versions of the game on July 24. This reveal was made during this month's Xbox Insider video.

I don't play it, but I've tryed it once
Didn't really like it
plus, iirc, this game trailer were a bit misleading
Apparently, lot of people though it was going to be a MMORPG
so if it gets multiplayer, then I have only one thing to say

how is the state of the game currently? close to what it was advertised in the beggining or is now a different game?
i know in the beggining it was totally shit, and the developers mislead and lied about plenty of features and stuff the game was supposed to have..
i am wondering if the developers slowly added what they promissed or basically rebuilt the game and went other path

I got my ass torn by people who bought this game at launch, my only comment was: ''This game is going to be shit''
And welp, guess I was right.

No Man's Sky? More like Nope Man's sky.

I've had it since day one.
It's made a lot of good strides towards what was presented in the initial trailers, though it can still be pretty empty and grindy.

My advice is and likely will remain that you should only pick up No Man's Sky if you're looking for a game you can relax with while exploring. Action is pretty spread out, and not the focus of the game.

Here's a small list of changes since 1.0:
- Base building
- Construct-able land vehicles
- Freighters
- Small missions from space-stations
- Story-line quest
- Functional portals
- Early implementations of multiplayer (players are floating orbs with voice), though it sounds like this is going to change with NEXT
- Optimization, optimization, optimization
- Ship, weapon and freighter classes
- And much more that I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Shouldnt the title be

No man's sky finally gets multiplayer?

I could have sworn this was one of the million things that they promised on day 1

If anything, I'll give the devs credit for staying committed to the game and slowly updating it toward a point where the game lives up to the promises they had been giving prior to release. Plenty to give them shit for, but it is pretty nice to see something as important as the promised multiplayer finally getting implemented.

Sounds like Morphite .large stretches of nothing. Boring after the 3rd hour after story mode is complete.

Too bad they lost my trust when they released an unready, unstable, glitchy game that wasnt worth my time or my $60 :/ Threw this game in the dump a long time ago. Too little to late sadly.

Try to grab it while it's on sale if you end up wanting to get it.

literally nobody gives a fuck
Several communities based around the game and myself included would disagree.
Just because a large majority of people dislike the game for its poor release does not mean no one likes it. There are niche games out there for everyone, and No Man's Sky happens to be one of them.

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

never had that i don't think

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
