hi guys, been messing arround with DML a wonderfull project i must say, i was just wondering if theres any way to save your games onto the SD card instead of the gc Memory card as i dont own a gc memory card, i was reading stuff about the NMM project from crediar but i read somewhere that NMM is already in the code but is not activated by default, so i was just wondering if theres something new about this and if not, what do i need to do to activate the NMM code in DML in order to save my games in the SD

thanks for advance

Hmm...I'm not a developper, but it's clear that DML is currently very actively in development. The code may be there, but it's disabled because the time and effort is needed elsewhere. As such, the behaviour of NMM (or even DML itself) is pretty much unpredictable. And with DML treating the SD card as a DVD reader and NMM treating it as a read & write device, it's not that hard to see the conflict.

So...I understand you guys want it, but tell me this: are you willing to risk that a bug causes your SD card to become unreadable?
(in the sense of some files or entirely becoming corrupt and having to be reformatted...I don't think the card can be physically damaged)

ok.. is simple.. inside the source exist global.h.. remove // "//#define CARDMODE 1" .. result "#define CARDMODE 1"... and after compile all..
is very not stable NMM on DML... sorry for my engrish... but this is the method for make on NMM on DML!

But that wasn't a real successor. It wasn't meant to have as much traction.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
GBC, GBA, GB games were all different
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    3DS and DS were too.

I don't think they'd design an entire new cart if they want to keep it backwards compatible
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Even if they're just a different colour.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Hopefully internal storage is at least 256gb be kind of dumb to stick with 64 or lower
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Wasn't that already confirmed?
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Or just rumoured?
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Nothings been confirmed directly from Nintendo yet
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
I haven't been up to date tbh
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I think the carts will be bigger flash size, and have a new lotus 4 protections so that can't be dumped say with a MIG dumper

@BigOnYa, That's what I was thinking before when I last mentioned the Switch 2 gamecards.

Different Lotus ASIC with additional protection which could break MIG support, larger NAND size for bigger games, etc.

Watch it be defeated by opening the cart
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
I wonder if there could be some denuvo on the carts
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Probably but kind of pointless it'll be a while before anyone gets any dumps out
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Iirc it was the clip thing that triggered the og exploit but now since switch 2 uses clip in pins that's out the window
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Wasn't that fixed in the mariko and oled?
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yeah but that's how they get dumps you need some type of cfw

Pin layout for carts is probably redesigned in different orders to where it wouldn't even be compatible with mig anyway

Honestly, I just want to see all the people asking how to pirate stuff that can't be pirated.

Or when people brick stuff. It's morbidly fun. z.z

Pins will be the same, will just use a different lotus protocol prob. https://gbatemp.net/threads/change-the-lotus3-gamecard-asic-ic-to-a-emmc-is-possible.637373/

Not believing any leaked details tell it's official Nintendo could easily swap ground to data and that'd be enough for an entire new layout
