229 will have alot less games working remenber that, nintendont isnt friendly with drives that dont simulate the 512k byte scetor wich yours 5tb one probably doesnt.
Some compatibility is better than no compatibility :) 229 is working ok now for a bunch of games where is was working with none with the latest rev. Really wish the devs cleaned up support for 4K drives. I have a 5TB drive now but could load up a 6TB one.

there is nothing for me todo, theres no special code for sector sizes so I don't know why something would crash, I don't have the money either so I can't actually test it myself.
Support for proper aspect ratio perhaps?
I don't mean 4:3/16:9 but the correct one. (I don't even know if it would be possible since I'm not sure all games rendered at the same reso or AR...)
But anyway. That would be a good addition.
I have no clue what you mean with proper aspect ratio, the video code is unchanged so everything looks like it should look, also all widescreen patches are dynamic so yeah.

You mean the 16:11.2 Aspect ratio? That's what's already supported as Fix says below. That's why I asked for the 4:3 one. I really should make that clear in the wishlist.

Lol
I always wondered if you read about all of this. The aspect ratio that Nintendont runs is 16:11.2, which is correct by all means, but lots and lots of games look squished because they were meant to be in 4:3.

Here's the wishlist updated yet again:
Nintendont Wishlist
  • Swiss' widescreen sprite/text patching
  • 4:3 aspect ratio setting. Nintendont and the GC itself render games in 16:11.2.
  • More controller and adapter support
  • Home menu?
  • Ability to take screenshots and record video
  • Workaround for the menu's videomode, so PAL users with RGB cable can watch it with colours instead of everything in red.
  • A fix in Sonic Mega Collection for audio delay the first time you run a game. Currently you need to enter the Z menu at least once after you select a game for it to synch.
  • A fix for the documentary video in Mega Man Anniversary Collection losing audio after watching it for a while
  • Capcom Vs. SNK 2 EO (US version) working with Force Progressive enabled
  • Larger memory card support for Ultimate Spider-Man

Nintendont Pipe Dreams
  • Better framerate in some parts of some games
  • N64 support (New app)
  • FIFO dumping

Strikethrough shows something shot down by a dev.

I still do not understand the meaning of it, especially if you say the gc does it like that too which means that I am doing something correct.

wow the wishlist is lot of work for fix94! for my opinion is better support extreme (not64) for n64games!
Screenshot feature is very nice add! and i think it's possible (diosmios have it? i remember something with gc controller on port4).
In a past (long time ago) chat with megazig and fix94 i remember the possibility for SAVE STATE on wii games (probably on gc games too?)
i have a 3rd party xbox 360 wired controller. I have send to tueidj thread the pid/vid (lsusb -v) but probably dev neeed the real controller...

You've done an amazing job and this project faithfully mimics the real console. :)
You are right in that you are doing something correct, but lots and lots of games look squished on digital TVs. They look fine on CRT TVs because they stretch the image so it would look correct afterwards. It's mostly third-party games, so I assume it was because most of the games themselves were ported over from the other systems that natively play in 4:3. I've hardly played a GC in Nintendont with a perfect-looking circle. Lol
So you mean overscan settings/image stretching?
Yeah! I wanted a setting like the "Wii U Widescreen" one. It would be cool if they could work together, too.

go to your wii settings and choose 4:3 problem solved for circles? Or just force widescreen on the games that the hack works.

Also some of your wishlist stuff makes no sence like forced progressive work on that game, that would mean someone would need to analize that game alone and write an hack for it, that isnt even nintendont work you would need an actual hack writted for that game alone.

I don't like using the widescreen patches because of the stretched text and sprites. I've tried all of the other different settings, including the ones on my TV; it's no good. Some of the games I have look perfectly fine; it's game dependent so that's why I feel a new 4:3 setting is best.

As I've said before, this is everybody's wishes. I don't know anything about the technical aspect of things; I'm just writing it all down. Unless Fix or an another dev says it's no good I'm not crossing it off yet, man. What else doesn't make sense to you, though?

More controller and adapter support

Even more? nintendont already has so manny controller options, serious no homebrew besides nintendont supports this manny controllers and combinations, people talk like nintendont should work with every controller ever made.

The n64 new app thing shouldnt even be a nintendont pipe dream becuase n64 would need to be an emulator like not64 and therefore it wouldnt be nintendont would it? It would be a n64 emulator.

It is a wish. Everyone knows wishes don't always come true. Having so much controller support is amazing, but more is appreciated. I don't understand why you are so butt-hurt about this.

Jfc, it says new app in parenthesis you dingus. No sh*t it's not Nintendont. A new N64 emulator made by the Nintendont team is what is wanted, so it's related to Nintendont in that regard.

Most HDTVs have a 4:3 setting. Just don't use the widescreen patch and set the HDTV to 4:3. If your TV doesn't support that, that's very odd.

Of course my HDTV has a 4:3 setting! It doesn't change the fact that Nintendont renders games in 16:9; it's still going to have those thin black bars on the side.

Well, the Wii (and vWii by extension) only support anamorphic widescreen, so it renders everything in 4:3, it just stretches it out to widescreen on your TV. When you set the Wii to widescreen, it just squishes a 16:9 image into a 4:3 frame, so when the TV stretches it back out, it's the right proportions. Those black bars are from the games themselves, I do believe, as they were designed with old style TVs in mind and had to deal with the old style overscan. I could be wrong on the last bit, but I'm fairly confident about that.

I guess I'm just saying I don't really see the problem. When I do a side by side comparison of my gamecube's output and Nintendont's output (without the widescreen patch), they look exactly the same, bar quality difference (I only have an S-Video cable for my Gamecube). So it seems like it's working as intended.

You pretty much hit the nail right on the head! The only thing wrong is that GC games themselves don't have individual anamorphic widescreen stretching like Wii games. This is why I'm proposing that we have the images able to be stretched out more through a setting. Does what TecXero and I said help you understand what I was talking about, @FIX94?

Yeah, as said before, both Nintendont and the GC are the same in that regard. The difference is that the GC wasn't really meant for HDTVs, so Nintendont should mend it in this regard, don't you think? ;)

I think I'm lost, I don't see what you want changed. The widescreen mode Nintendont offers is really good. As for the overscan borders, it would probably require a bit of work for every game to remove them and render more to keep it in the right proportions. There's no way around the 480p anamorphic widescreen limitations on Wii/vWii.

speaking about controller suport i have some issues with the twin usb joystick addpater for ps1,2 controllers
mz8adWWPH1GI-I6Pc_rpreg.jpg
that one, so far i could use only port 1 since 2 didnt works so reading on another post about controller ini files they sugested to change the Multiln=1 to Multiln=2 and it enabled the port 2 but when playing both controllers bahave like if u were connecting and disconecting really fast so making impossible to play.

Is there a way to fix this issue or is a lost hope and just enjoy it with 1 controller?

I have a wii black no ngc ports 4.3U

I didn't really know what to call it, but I want a setting that lets you hide the overscan border, I suppose.
By widescreen mode do you mean force widescreen? I don't like enabling it because of the stretched sprites and text.
I don't think it works like that, but I'm not sure. I mean, Fix did add the "Wii U Widescreen" setting.

I don't even think Nintendont supports 2 controllers with that adapter. Just one.
