Nintendo to skip Direct this E3, Treehouse only

Untitled-2.png

Although Nintendo has not held a traditional press conference at E3 since 2012, for the last 3 years they have at least had a pre-filmed Nintendo Direct showing.

Unfortunately, even that is not the case this year and they have recently announced that their only showing for E3 2016 will be in the form of a live-streamed Nintendo Treehouse event devoted entirely to the new The Legend of Zelda game for both Wii U and the forthcoming NX.

The game will also be playable in some form at E3 so we can expect the game to be quite far along.

The currently titled The Legend of Zelda for both Wii U and NX is due to release sometime in 2017.

I know how to fix Nintendo.
They need to release the NX with the Playstation 5 and Xbox Two...

And it must be as powerfull as they will be, and have the same type of controlls, and a lot of multimedia things like blu ray playback and a lot of apps...
Sadly, Nintendo online services are like 10 years behind.

At least you don't need to pay to play online

I'm pretty disappointed with Nintendo currently and if they don't up their game (no pun intended) I'm not sure that the NX will be a great console either.

Edit:

Nintendo online services are free tho

They're not worth paying.

Nintendo is seriously hurting themselves by not showing anything to the fanbase. Unless they can pull their heads out of their asses and start showing things to people, they're going to sink. We're less than a year away from the NX. LITERALLY ALL THAT WE KNOW is that it's a thing, and that the new Zelda game will be on it. THAT'S FUCKING IT. It'd be nice to know what the hell the NX even is, perhaps the new Zelda game might use it in an innovative way that might make it attractive to the consumer for all we know. Not to mention it's not like Zelda is the only game that they're making. I'm sure other companies would love to make announcements at E3, but with Nintendo jumping to just a Treehouse event is just absurd.

Otherwise, if you're not showing anything at E3, I expect Nintendo directs on a monthly basis until December at the least to make up for this.

Has it occurred to anyone that Nintendo might be doing this to make a surprise reveal?

"We are not showing anything at the E3 direct." E3 rolls around and suddenly SECRET REVEAL!!! Hype train off the rails... I think this is all planned.

All companies make bad decisions. Such as Apple. They didn't discontinue iPhone's after Steve Jobs died, hence their low-end terrible devices now.

ANYWAY, enough people are hyped for Zelda U and NX so it's not like people are going to ditch Nintendo.

I've been trying my best to love Nintendo even with all of the shit they've been doing lately, but if they don't show anything Pokemon related on E3, that might change.

The Ninty fanbase doesn't care they think like "That's ok. Nintendo needs to take all the time they need and that's why we get the best games".

Apple just keeps on releasing overpriced products that people buy and well, as long as it's profitable I can't criticise them for that. They've got tons of sheep that need feeding and they're doing it just fine.

True.
For their online services it really needs a major update, or upgrade. I don't believe they can add Blue Ray since that's only exclusive to PlayStation 3 - PlayStation 4 Services.

I believe they try avoiding making online features similar to a regular friend system, chats, etc. Due to trying to create a family friendly environment with the Wii, but what I don't understand is why they are not considering adding things like "Private Games" "Servers" or more multi media features. (Granite they have YouTube and stuff, but really? When will a real update take place?)

For the friend code type thing. (I don't know if this has been replaced yet.) Why don't they just allow usernames instead of a passcode. Like a regular friend system like PS3 has currently.
:wtf:.

Edit: I know my post was a little unclear I will clarify.

Basically my last paragraph... Why not just add usernames to add people with the "Wii friend code" thing instead of the legitimate Wii Code.

Was planning to wait until this year's E3 to see if Ninty will be coming out with any new games I might be interested (besides Zelda) before I sell my Wii U...Now it looks I might be selling it even earlier...
If you're in to rpgs and JPOP Tokyo Mirage Session #FE might be a good game for you. Plus the 5.5.1 Keksploit has been leaked.
