Fortnite is definitely coming to the Switch tomorrow.

JK don’t kill me.
I wont kill you, but every fortnite update has always been like that. They usually update in the mornings where i live, but always at different hours, nothing concrete.

I mean it could, the graphics are nothing special and UE4 is optimized for Switch, but that'd just mean two platforms I'd have to ignore it on.
Yes and no. Fortnite is definitely possible on switch, but there are crucial factors that could ruin the experience for a lot of players. First, the game originally ran at 30fps with frame drops on ps4 and xbox one, not too long ago a 60fps mode arrived and its gorgeous, but the quiality of the visuals was hit a bit hard, now it runs at like 720p on base ps4 and the fps mode isnt even locked, drops below 55 but at least is still fast and good looking frame rate. Quality on the map geometry and assets was hit too, grass rendering was improved by eliminating a bunch of it across the map, the rendering of distant objects is pretty awful (like, n64 quality of visuals on stuff from far away), textures are a bit, eh... and etc.
Now, how would that affect a possible switch version? First, a 60 fps mode would be impossible, the image quality wouldnt be greater than 720p on docked mode and it would be pretty below that on undocked mode, not to mention the unstable frame rate below 30 fps it would have in undocked mode. The textures and rendering would take an even big hit, probably they would have to eliminate alot of stuff from the map, or they could go the route of the low settings pc version where stuff from far away starts to pop in while you come across of them and the 3d rendering would have to be below 720p, probably 480p on undocked mode (talking about the 3d rendering quality, not the image quality itself)... considering all of this, it would still be possible, but a lot of work would have to be done by epic games to get ir working on both docked and especially on undocked mode.
