Everything will be worthless eventually, I always knew the there would be people crying because they update past 9.2.......but really....before there is an an update?...now consoles can be updated, unless they get well and truly hacked this is the future of console hacking, if you can't live without the latest fw on your console I think it's time to take up a new hobby

Obviously the main game isn't going to be patched. The patch will be system firmware, and will likely patch Sky3DS too.

Hacking any electronics that was designed not to be hacked is always going to be worthless..... Hobbyist devs vs. Nintendo big corporation. The hobbyists devs don't stand a chance when you think about it.

I'm just happy that we actually have a scene at all. Wind back 2 years and the outlook looked very bleak....

I was able to find Cubic Ninja brand new for $15 at a retailer about 2 days after smealum released the exploit so yeah

Well for starters they have said numerous times that no extra hardware is required to update GW. So they most likely found another exploit in 9.0-9.2

When did they say that? They only said you wouldn't need to buy a new flashcart, AFAIK.

The kernel exploit might require a game in the first place, the only way to run the exploit then without owning the game it would be with a FPGA update that enables a Sky3DS-like method of loading games, so you could use that to load the exploit to get CFW. That's all hypothetical of course but it's not unlikely that it will use a game like NINJHAX does.

You are correct I just got confused. Ive sent them an email specifically asking if a 4.x 3DS is required to update the current card to 9.x. Now we play the waiting game.
But I still think theres a kernel or some kind of exploit involved because they said they have compatibility for 9.0 - 9.2, I mean if theyre gonna reprogram the FPGA to work as Sky3ds does they could have just said to update to 9.2 from the start (for better game compatibility)
