Hacking Ninjhax will be worthless eventually?

Damn right :creep: About effing time that limitation was removed. I don't care about 3DS backups necessarily, I just want decent emulators, and Snes is already looking awesome XD
Just curious. If you only want emulators and don't care about pirating 3DS games, why are you so obsessed with the system getting homebrew when you don't own a 3DS? Why not just buy a more homebrew-friendly handheld instead?

Because I actually do plan on getting a 3DS XL in the near future, that's why, that and Snes emulation is getting much better on there.

the fact that it's next to impossible to find a copy of Cubic Ninja not from a reseller trying to rip you off because they think it enables piracy is enough to make the exploit useless IMO.

I don't know if Nintendo will patch it, but I remember Smealum saying he's releasing the exploit so we can learn further things about the way the New 3DS functions.
It would be great if another exploit was discovered from Ninjhax, or some sort of custom firmware.
So who knows if it is worthless. So far it's not very exciting and there doesn't seem to be anything coming from it.

Even if Ninty patches up the Ninjhax exploit and you have no means of running homebrew?

There's always that possibility, BTW, are you...trying to counter everything I post? If so, why, I want to know why you're countering everything I'm saying. I'm going to use the exploit, and that's that. End of discussion.

I was able to find Cubic Ninja brand new for $15 at a retailer about 2 days after smealum released the exploit so yeah

He already released it. You mean that he's going to make his exploit open-source so that other users can mess/learn with it.

Well, I got mine used for less than $5. :P

My point is, if it gets patched and you can only get a system that has the latest fw and thus doesn't support it, will you still buy a 3DS?

No, I'm just asking questions to help me make sense out of your reasoning.

The thing is: There are lots of 3DS's being sold with firmwares lower than v9.X. So it's not hard to find one that's lower than v9.X and then installing ninjhax for homebrew. Now the bigger problem is snatching a copy of Cubic Ninja without getting ripped off from resellers. If he wants to update to v9.X or something, then he can just find a game that has the v9.X update (like Pokemon OR/AS) and then update it to v9.2.

My reasoning. Heh, even I don't know my own reasoning, I just want Ninjax and not have to worry about getting a GW for a while. Stuff happens, exploits can and do get blocked, but, I'm not exactly sitting around losing sleep over that fact. Having said that, ever since the 3DS came out, I always envisioned Snes emulation on it, and now, that's a desire that came true, Snes is getting better and better, many games run at full speed and with sound implemented. That's something I never thought possible and now it is. There's also NES, GBC/GB emulation and soon to be Virtual Boy.

Just my two cents, I find a Cubic Ninja patch HIGHLY unlikely since, you know, the devs are kill and the source code probably is too?
Although a FW patch seems much more plausible. But who's gonna update anyway?

By that, I meant a firmware update that patches the Cubic Ninja exploit, not a standalone update for cubic ninja.

I meant my post more as a hypothetical question.

Btw, doesn't OR/AS come with 7.2.0? According to the release list, no retail game includes a 9.x update.
