Mine is working just fine (uLoader 3.1 + cIOS222), I've got just one question: my TV is 4:3 and the Wii is configured accordingly, but when I load NSMB Wii it goes to widescreen (16:9) and uLoader just allows me to configure video mode (NTSC/PAL), not screen ratio. Any particular reason why that's happening?

Finally got the game working using uLoader 3.1 and now I have another problem, the contols are all wrong, UP is Right, Down is Left, Left is UP, Right is Down and A is Jump

anyone else had this problem.
Dude are you for real? If not I am a sucker cause you need to hold your wiimote sideways! The intro splash screen even says so.

Wow!
Do you actually think that I'm stupid?

I found out what the problem was, I had the nunchuck plugged in.
Try it that way for awhile. I prefer playing with the nunchuk.
Yeah you are right, it feels as though you have better control over Mario when using the Nunchuck, I think I'll stick to it from now on

Someone needs to post a sticky guide on how to get NSMBW working with USB, disc, and SD loading.
Way too many information in this thread to be useful to anyone.

Ok this is crazy i been reading this stuff for days nows. Can anyone confirm a way to make this run on a soft modded Wii with a disc, is all i like to know

The solution has been around for days! even on this thread. I have been saying it 100 times. Over here and over at the backup launcher forums.

Patched game + uloader 3.1 + cios rev 15 = working game

Everyone who has tried this says it works, and it has been working fine for me.

I have followed this and still get a green screen. I am guessing I need to get a different patched dump? i currently have a patched Pal NSMB

Are you on an NTSC Wii. Make sure you are forcing NTSC if you are.

Also make sure you are using cios 259

(both the above can be configured in uloader)

If it still doesnt work changes are you have a bad copy.

I do have a NTSC wii. I am sure you meant cios249 right? I have done both of those and my copy still will not load. Maybe it is because the iso I have is "fixed" and not "patched" (is there a difference?). I am currently getting a "patched" US copy to try that.

I downloaded a "scrubbed" game already, but I don't know how to patch it. I'm able to get the game to work through uLoader 3.1+ciosrev15, but it crashes after like 10 mins like other people say. Is there a link about patching somewhere?

That is a classic sign that your game needs tobe patched. The info of how to do that are everywhere. Or you can just find an already patched version.

I was reading the first post of this thread, and under the patching the ISO quote, it says "PAL Only!" I have the NTSC iso, is there a different way to patch that?..Or? I'm not sure what the difference between scrubbed and patched is.

IOS53 v5406 w/ trucha
cIOS 249 v15
WiiFlow or USB Loader GX or uLoader 3.1
NTSC iso

Game starts can play for a little while then freezes. Music will stop and if you die or end the level it freezes. What am I missing?

Just so i understand, you can only use the patching guide in the OP on the PAL version?
The instructions in the OP will work for both NTSC(-U) and PAL. However, you will need to use the appropriate offsets in step 6, since the offsets to patch differ between the NTSC and PAL versions.

the thing is that the values mentioned in the OP appear at a different offsets than mentioned in the OP (in the OP it says theyre at 001AB610, 001AB611, 001AB612, and 001AB613. But the values for me appear at 001AB630, 001AB631, 001AB632, and 001AB633.)

winhex.png

Should i replace the values at 001AB630 or at 001AB610?

edit: i accidentally circled the fourth value at 001AB630. Also, i noticed that 001AB633 (what should be 001AB613) says B0 for me instead of D0

edit2: ok i just tried both. I still keep getting a green screen

My setup right now is:
Soft-modded using this guide: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=171901 (So i'm on 4.2u)
cios rev15
NeoGamma rev8 b12
Wii is NTSC

Is there something else I'm missing?

Why are people still patching this? Get a proper loader that has the patch built into it and you won't have to worry about it.

Unless you need the dol patched to get it to work from disc.

Is that the issue still going on? getting it to load from disc?

All,

USB Loader GX has had the fix for NSMB since USB Loader GX r822 without the need to edit any files or iso:

USB Loader GX r822 info

Revision: r822
Date: Nov 09, 2009

Log message

*Added WiiPowers New Super Mario Patch. (Thanks WiiPower)

---

I use a forwarder for this - It;s easier than waiting on someone to create a channel for the specific version

USB Loader GX forwarder download

With the forwarder, you can ownload the latest version (rxxx.dol) and rename it to boot.dol under /apps/usbloader_gx/

You can find the latest .dol files here:

Latest .dols for USB Loader GX

Sincerely,

Jeffery Stone

That's what I'm trying to do, at least. I dont have any USB hard drives i'm willing to format to whatever that Wii format is.

I play from usb so i don't have any issues, but im burning a disc of it right now for the hell of it to see if i can get it to boot maybe.

I will report back here in a little bit if/when it works.

NSMB will just tell you to remove your nunchuck if it is plugged in... at any time during a game as well.

For everyone still asking how to patch the main.dol.... just wow. The first post has had the directions up for days now. If you don't want to burn another disc, every loader that works with NSMB supports the alt .dol method. Get the patched .dol for your region (or just do it yourself), name it correctly and place it where your particular loader is looking for it.

For the 1000000 time!!!

want to play this game via DVD.

Cios rev 15 + uloader 3.1 (YOU DONT NEED CIOS222 just uloader) + a patched version of the game.

Start uloader 3.1, press 2 to boot from DVD. Have fun.
