How can Nintendo add Youtube and Netflix without an updated firmware?
believe it or not we've gotten software in the past without updating the console
turns out the nintendo switch has a secret functionality enabled that permits downloading of content onto the device to use it
this functionality isn't even tied to the system software, if you can believe it

So Nintendo sideloaded stuff into the system eh? If they smuggled things into their system it's ok but if other devs did it they would be banned.

Are you really that bored with your life that you gotta come here and troll. Pretty sure you're the same person that was posting that they had SX Pro already. Could a mod lock this topic and preferably suspend this idiot?

You wouldn't be here if you're not bored. We are all bored waiting... like Jack Sparrow waiting to drink those rum he downloaded.

Side load or not, it is just something they can upload to the eShop. If it needs extra capability it coulda been put in a while back with hulu, there could also be an updated, who knows.

i
i'm not a hundred percent certain you're kidding and that's worrying
just in case;
If it does release, it'll be an app on the Nintendo E-Shop like it is on every other console. It will not be hardloaded into the console or packaged with it.

People on Nintendo E3 chat on gamespot are saying walmart canada leaked youtube and netflix on the switch as well just like bustbuy. I think there may be some truth to it now.

>removes browser due to history as an exploit
>removes themes due to history as an exploit
Does this mean Nintendo will stop supporting 3rd party retailers?

wifi-tethering will go through the roof if it's true :P
That's already how I get internet when not at the folks home. Wifi tethering is a gift from the gods! (and thank christ I have unlimited 4G with no tethering restrictions!)

Me too kinda but after 25gb they cut my speed so no use in me trying to use it for the switch.

Oh man, can't wait to watch half a movie on the switch.
Even with a resource-heavy game, like BotW, you can get 3 hours of battery life (which is already plenty enough to watch a film). And video streaming isn't resource-heavy at all, so you could probably get at least double that.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
