So I've bought new 2DS XL from a guy who didn't know what he was doing. He run unistall HAX script in godmode9 without prep work. Now when you try to power it on it shows black screen and blue led lights on. It doesn't turn off or anything it just sits with black screen. Thought if I power it on in recovery mode. The wifi LED lights up so maybe it's not completely dead. I'm fine with microsoldering so if there's any way to recover it I would be very thankful for help

Might be a Lazarus project 3ds . Tl;dr a bricked 3ds that requires cfw to boot.

But to use this fix you need to boot to godmode9 which I can't
What exactly happened? Explain as detailed as possible:
  • Was the N2DSXL fully working before "Un-install Hax"
  • Is this "just" a case of uninstalling B9S without the safety test?
  • Any known hardware damage?

Yes it was modded and fully working but guy decided to remove CFW for some reason. He didn't do safety test just launched godmode9 and selected Un-install hax. He says that there was no damage. I will try to reseat WiFi chip because it looks pretty similiar to this issue

Probably not related to the WiFi or anything on hardware level.
"Just" a case of modified console unique data and/or Home Menu→signature invalid with no signature patches = refuses to load.

Reinstalling CFW with an ntrboot flashcart should fully revive the N2DSXL - like already mentioned. I have no idea if the known plaintext attack for the installing via hardmod (since you mentioned soldering) would work in this case, but ntrboot will most likely do (and is far easier).

Preflashed and with internal switch for ntrboot / ds-game-mode

Could you tell me more about hardmod method?

I was saying the 3ds you bought after you did that was that kind of 3ds. I'm not saying to use it. I'm saying it's a 3ds that may have used the Lazarus3ds script. Which is why it's bricked. Because a 3ds that uses it bricks if there is no cfw/luma

So any R4 is good as long as I have DSi to flash it?
The only DS flashcarts that work in hacking are those on this ntrboot list. The R4i Gold 3DS Plus (r4ids.cn) is recommended because it has a built-in dual DS/ntrboot switch. The R4iSDHC series (the three from that aliexpress page) requires another system to flash ntrboot on it. Also, it's shitty because it has a time bomb. Only reason to get that is because it's the cheapest if you absolutely can't afford the other one.

@Xdqwerty, People who create revival services for the Wii end up in disaster, same goes for Pretendo lol.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?

    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
