Hacking Need help with (probably) bricked acekard 2i.

heya people.
here's the deal:
My friend got an acekard 2i a few months ago and then it wouldnt load any other ROM..anything. he sent it to repair, and only got it recently.
but he got his "fixed" acekard 2i without a microsd, and i wanted to trade my flashcard with his acekard.
When I tested the acekard, my DS lite says "There is no DS card inserted." and my friend said that when he got his acekard without microsd it also said that, but then
when he got his microsd, it worked.

Is it not being detected because there's no microSD on it? Because my DS detects the other R4 cards even when they dont have a microsd.

P.S: Got a microsd, but i'm gettin a microSD usb reader tomorrow. The microSD has nothing in it though.

I think you just need to blow in slot-1 and in the cartridge. It often happens to me when my DSi can't find the flashcart.

i think that having the micro sd or not, the kernel is what makes the ds read the flashcart has a real cart... so i think that it isnt because of the micro sd..

but i remember that when my friend got his acekard 2i, it wouldnt really appear when there wasnt a microsd on.
this is weird...should i just wait for the microsd usb reader? i'm borrowing one tomorrow.

I don't think so.

From what I've heard, it blanks out the header info and logo, but it's still detected as a card.

And when I first got my AK2i, I put it in without a MicroSD, and it was detected. Of course, it got stuck on Loading... though.

I tried the paper trick, didnt fix too. So yeh I'll wait for the microsd usb reader and hope it works.

Fixed my acekard 2i with 1.4.1 firmware update, even tho I've a DS Lite.
so happy now

p.s.: friend had turned off ds while updating, then the DS wouldnt detect it.
