My right joycon (r button) when pressed, acts like the a, x, and home button. Whats the problem?

So yesterday, i was playing Mario Maker 2, and browsing through the courses using the r button, i noticed that whenever i pressed it, it would send me to the main menu, and would also click on whatever selected. If it's not an easy fix, i might just get the little chunky joycons that everyone has been talking about. basically the same price as 1 joycon

Probably a pinched ribbon cable but would have to see some up close pics to really say. If you’re handy with basic mechanics and electronics you can open it up and take a look. Here’s the best site in the business for getting inside and seeing what’s what.

If you’re not so inclined then yes, buying new joycons will be your best bet.
