Music making app KORG Gadget to release on the Switch eShop

IMG_7585.PNG

If you've ever wanted to make music using your Nintendo Switch, then you won't have to wait much longer, as KORG Gadget will be launching on the Nintendo Switch soon. KORG is a music studio app that lets users create music with 16 synthesized instruments by using an interface on the Switch's tablet screen, or by using motion with the Joy-Cons, such as turning the Joy-Cons as if they were a volume knob in order to control the sound. There's options for making music with drums, pianos, and you can even create your own chiptunes, right on the Switch. As well as letting a singular player create music, there's also a four-player mode, which allows a group of people to each choose a different instrument, and work together to create a melody. KORG Gadget launches as a eShop-only game on April 26, and will cost $48.

The KORG Gadget's most amazing feature is the intuitive music creation workflow, enabled by the KORG Gadget for Nintendo Switch user interface. Sound, Phrase, Sequence, and Mix are contained in an intuitive layout, and allow for seamless music creation. Also, it can also be set to “scale mode” to match the song. Even those who are unaccustomed to synthesizers are able to enjoy creating songs.

Wooo, I love messing around on KORG M01D on the 3DS, and I will love to do it on the Switch... If I could buy digital only games more often

Will wait for reviews before making any decisions. Seems like people have had good experiences in the past. Might be worth checking out :D

I'm guessing this'll be handheld-only, because you can't really control an interface like KORG with a controller.

Using the Nintendo Switch dock's HDMI cable, the KORG Gadget can be played on your TV. You can create a song on the big screen, or enjoy collaborating with up to four people. Also, by outputting to a screen, you can even using the Joy-Con™ for a live performance. Create music with this studio anytime, anywhere by choosing between TV Mode, Table Mode, Mobile Mode, etc.

From the official site. You can use any mode the Switch has to create music.

What I am hating about this is that they have 2 websites up for this app right now and none mention, as far as I can see, what EXPORT options it will have. It's all "hey it's super fun". Sure. But can I create MIDI sequence for my real music projects or is it just for the lulz? Way to go KORG...

That price point is pretty bigh. I realize it's the price of a full game - but I wonder who is buying this. Will it really provide enough hours of enjoyment to justify the cost?

I actually think it's pretty cheap. Music production software usually is quite expensive.

Wow. Yes compared to that it's pretty cheap.

I just think it may have been a better option to go lower to attract the casual crowd. But hey, I didn't get a business degree - and I'm sure they have done some analysis to maximize profit - and this it the price point they came to.

For me however it's too much. But I would just be messing around with it. I'm not a professional. And I guess I am not the target demographic.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
