Again, they're probably just referring to the FPGA.

I asked just because it was added to the wiki in the comparison chart.

so I'm looking at the pictures, and it must be very very late for me here at 11:19pm but i'm not seeing the CPU that they added. It could just be me.

If the save file corrupts, like RomAnOCrY says, then wouldn't that defeat the purpose of even playing? I could only see that not being an "issue" if you're a die hard RPG player that will not turn off the device until the game is beaten, and seeing as there's a NG+ in Bravely, you wouldn't turn it off till you beat it at least twice.
Of course it defeats the purpose of a functional flashcard, it's pretty clear that the team behind MT-Card rushed the release of their product to get easy money while they still can.

my pokemon is cuter... just sayin.

anyway back on topic;

Are we still considered GW fanboys since we've acquired all the info needed to show that the MT(empty) card falls short of everything they wanted to put for minus games >4.5 and multi-rom?

Logo is ugly and cheap. Doesn't matter if it also gots multirom.
I still doubt it if they will get it.
The only I prefer is mayby R4 but Gateway is best.

Personally, I respect this team more than R4i team. At least they didn't seem to 1:1 copy something.

Actually there have been a few sources who claim that the MT-Card and R4i Team are actually one and the same.

An Email reply from the Gateway Team has suggested this as well as claims that some forum posts, emails, skype and msn messages that were promoting the MT-Card originated from the same people that were previously promoting the R4i Deluxe Gold cart.

These claims have indicated that they have rebranded to MT-Card in order to separate themselves from the R4i Deluxe Gold. According to these sources, the FPGA of the R4i Deluxe Gold can not be updated, which will make the promises from the R4i Team that their cart will support Multirom and NAND Saves practically impossible to fulfill.

The evidence, in my opinion, is not exactly conclusive but is fairly convincing.

If in the weeks following the release of Gateway 2.0, the R4i Team fails to release a similar update for their R4i Deluxe Gold Cart, I would be even more inclined to believe the claims that the R4i Team has abandoned their R4i Deluxe Gold Clone Cart in favor of the MT-Card.

Wonder why? Do FPGAs have to be programmed in a way to be able to update?

I was so excited for this card until I found out it was so dubious :( That button that switches games on the top of the rom really makes the deal for me, since switching roms is just a button press instead of restarting the 3DS every time (unless Gateway provides some kind of button combination in the 3DS menu that doesn't conflict with anything) but I can't trust them at this stage :(

Looks like it's a Gateway for me... is usd60 a good price for one? Thanks.
Or maybe I should wait a little more and see if MT-Card can get their act together.

what?
Why are you restarting the 3DS everytime?
Just eject the cartridge and reinsert it.

Do you always shutdown your console fully to change your game when using retail cartridges too?

Um...I might be wrong, but don't you choose the game you want to load in the Gateway menu, which is by holding L while tapping DS Profile? You mean when Gateway supports multirom, you can switch games by ejecting and reinserting the cartridge?

i think its fairly obvious at this point that R4i & co ballsed up cutting corners when cloning the gateway, now they have had to make a new card and pretend to be someone new so they don't get angry customers who have been promised multi-rom etc demanding replacement cards, from what i have read the MT card is running firmware at the very least heavily based on gateways work, there are indeed rumors that it could even be a leaked beta that gateway produced but no word from gateway confirming or denying this, at this point people can be 99% sure that MT card = R4i with a button, usb port and the bits they stripped out when copying the gateway put back in...i wouldn't trust any company that starts dropping support a few months after being out and leaving people with nothing but a bunch of MT promises XD....not to mention a company selling something they have no idea how to program for, gateway have proven they have a competent coder who is able to code off their own back with no copying or other software to base their work on, yeah there may be delays but the 3DS is a new platform to develop on and these things take time.....it not exactly visual studio....drop a few check boxes here and there and bingo its a program....the dev is learning as they work so things should pick up pace gradually and improve with time, but thats what it will take...time......how long to copy someone else work.....nowhere near as long as the original developer took creating it (unless its bloody well protected against copying :P)

You still have to have multiple MicroSD Cards, but you could just take out the GW Cart, put in a new MicroSD and put back in the Red GW Cart.
No need to go back to menu

Ah yes, I know that. I mean when both Gateway and MT-Card have multirom, I can change games with MT-Card just by pressing the button, whereas with Gateway I'll have to go into the Gateway menu every time I want to change a game.

All we know is that Gateway will be using a software solution to multi-rom. They've also mentioned an integrated menu, possibly something drop-down style that could make switching ROMs on the fly just as easy.

There are pros and cons to both...if you have a lot of ROMs, cycling through them in one direction with the button the MT could be pretty tedious.
