Hello, and sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find a topic on this so I figured I'd make a new one.

My problem is getting Moonshl to run homebrews, inspired by the top30 homebrew games topic. I wanted to play Powder and LemmingsDS, but getting them to work is not happening for me. The hardware in question is a pink DS Lite, R4DS card running the couple-week-old 1.14 Kernel and two 1GB Sandisk MicroSD cards.

Whenever I start moonshl, I get this weird error asking if the setup ended normally, if \moonshl folder is moved, did I enable resume function , do you have enough free space, reformat the card etc. It also suggests to try media from a different manufacturer , but I'd rather not if this problem could be fixed in any other way. I've tried it with an otherwise empty SD card, only including the R4 system + Moonshl, so space is not the issue, I have also reformatted the cards in both FAT and FAT32, and tried with two different cards. Both cards and all the aforementioned configurations give that error.

When I try to open a homebrewed game / software with Moonshell, I get a File Information window that says "Not Support Adapter?" The homebrew is DLDI'd to R4 Revolution, and moonshl has been installed with the setup program to support R4 also. I've also used several versions of moonshl, the one that comes with 1.14 Kernel .rar , and the 1.71 one I downloaded via the 30 best homebrew-topic. Moonshl plays MP3's, reads text files etc normal, it just won't run the homebrews I want it to.

So, is there any way I could get moonshl to run homebrew, without having to resort into buying another SD card(which aren't too expensive, but I'm very strapped for cash and otherwise I can play DS games just fine, so wouldn't want to invest just for homebrew)? Or is there perhaps some other software for running the homebrews other than Moonshell I could try? I haven't really read up on homebrew that much, so any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated.

I don't actually own an R4 so I might be wrong, but are you sure you need to use Moonshell at all to run homebrews? You should be able to launch them straight from the R4's main menu just like any other game.

I thought you needed Moonshl to run the homebrews, wonder where I got that idea. Probably the fact that I haven't read enough stuff about running all sorta homebrewed stuff

But yes, it works just fine from the basic game launch menu. No idea why I didn't try that earlier.... :/

Anyways, anyone got a clue how to get rid of that error message on Moonshl ? That annoys me, even if I can run the games now since I can't apparently figure out the EASY solutions without trying to reformat cards and whatnot...

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar

Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
