Alright, I followed the instructions on my 4.2E Wii, and now the Disc Channel is asking me when I have Mario Kart Wii loaded in it to perform a system update... haven't tried any other discs, but since MKWii is quite old I would assume something is off...

I told my friend at college that I spent a day doing this and then f**king about with loads of homebrew, then he said that his Wii has the same stuff, but his dad paid for it...*sigh*...I'd say facepalm, but I just don't want to

I was looking through some other websites at some guides *my brother in law wants to get his new wii modded

It is a LU64

IN the guide on the other site it reads the following:

"NOTE IF YOU ARE LU64+ DO NOT DOWNGRADE YOUR WII or Install any CIOS to an ios below number 200, doing so could mess up your wii."

Doesnt this guide do that?

It doesn't seem to me that the guide implies a downgrade, and as for the cIOSes, it installs them from slot 202 onwards.

This guide downgrades only 1 thing: IOS15, and thats one of the few things that are safe to be downgraded.
It is needed to install a patched IOS

I go an error on the first .wad you are supposed to install on the first step of updating. :X

Hello again...I just have a quick quest.

My Wii is currently modded according to the december version and I just got the CIOS upgrade package and wanted to upgrade CIOS 202, 222, 223, 224, 249 & 250. But, the thing is...there are so many of each...which one should I use? Because all of them have 37,38,57,60,70.

I´m

202-v5-57
222-v5-38 (no other choice)
223-v5-37 (for guitar hero like games)
224-v5-57 (for faster USB Loading)
249-v19-57 (for faster USB Loading)
250-v19-37 (for guitar hero like games)

note, that u need to update your wad manager to use cIOSs with non IOS38 base (download and use YAWMM)

also note that until Triiforce is updated, it doesn't work with cIOS249-v19, instead use cIOS249-v17 (or v17b) if u use triiforce regularly

i have a problem D: my wii is 4.2U and when i try to access the SD card from the channels the wii just freezes and doesnt load the boot.

Try another bannerbomb version:
http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/

Choose your system menu version, then use the first one in the list under 6.

thank you very much, it works.

What system menu are you on?
And what wad file is it exactly?

Well, if you can, maybe you should just do an official update
Won't make much difference for the rest of the guide
But thats your choice
