for now, since this is an .elf fie like any other homebrew, then yeah it seems like itfirstly this is neat , thanks dev.!!
and sorry noob question here , can this be used instead of launching into the browser and loading up homebrew launcher via loadiine?
basically for the loading of signature patches ( i always need to go to loadiine load up homebrew and then fw img from my SD card )
can this be used to do that without the need of going into the browser etc.?
just put it on your sd card like you would with all homebrew and run it from the homebrew browser. since I dont have Haxchi yet, I dont really know what use this'll be to the end user yet, but so far for me everything's fine. Just dont mess with rednand stuff unless u have it lolJust so I don't risk any chance of bricking... what would be the correct way to install this?
Will this help me get access to the games inside the HDD which I cannot play when I unlinked my sysnand as described in https://gbatemp.net/threads/im-screwed.452728/#post-6916215
Yep. If you activate SEEPROM and OTP redirection (in default mode it is activated with redNAND option), it will also dump those to your SD card to a position close to the existing dumps.Just to clarify, if I already have existing Rednand and run this, it will use my currently existing rednand, correct? Just want to make sure I am understanding correctly.
would there be any chance to lunch vwii with wiiu clock speed trough iosu hax somehow?Yes. You can do redNAND with SEEPROM and modify the SEEPROM USB seed as I told you to. To edit the values open up the SD card in HxD without write protection. Go to sector 0x9FE00 which is the seeprom data. Modify the data at offset 0xB0 relative to that position (size is 0x10). See also here http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Hardware/SEEPROM

You could actually patch the fw.img of the vWii with the same method used here and do all the necessary patches. This is quite some work though and nobody is working on it as far as I know.would there be any chance to lunch vwii with wiiu clock speed trough iosu hax somehow?
shame, vwii with wiiu clock speed would benefict so many homebrew emulators its not even funny xD and maybe even some wii games depending on how they are codedYou could actually patch the fw.img of the vWii with the same method used here and do all the necessary patches. that's the same thing. So, the users with redNAND, its best continue with this or change to Mocha?
Bye!
Oh in that case I guess we don't need it anymore. I didn't see that change yet. Thanks for pointing it out. Do you want to submit a PR or should I just change it myself?@dimok
Using the syshax.xml was a very quick hack for enabling coldboot, while I was searching for a better solution (i.e. force fw.img to load the system menu via code).
According to this patch from FIX94, https://github.com/FIX94/haxchi/blob/master/dsrom/CBHC/arm_kernel/source/main.c#L112-L114
do we really need syshax.xml anymore?
Strangely, FIX94 left the syshax.xml anyway. It is fine, go ahead. I think it would good to push changes also on the original iosuhax repo. It stores the patches in a more declarative and readable way.Oh in that case I guess we don't need it anymore. I didn't see that change yet. Thanks for pointing it out.
