New version ! (v230811)
Again, not much actually new, but a few VERY critical bugfixes. So like last time, I advise everyone to update immediately !

Changelog :
- map streaming fixed *again*; now it won't get "locked" if you're too close to the edge.
- fixed the bug which made some cube faces disappear after saving; however, that's only for stuff saved from now on, so old maps which were affected with this bug will have to be fixed manually. (so if you had that bug, just place a block in front of the invisible face and remove it !)
- player position is now saved to the map file (so you start back where you left the game off)
- somewhat fixed the cursor; still a bit buggy but much better than it used to be
- it's now possible to make time pass by faster by touching the clock
- fixed the compass
- fixed mapGen for sizes that aren't 256, 512, 1024 etc. you do have to feed it even numbers though
- fixed the saving problem for FAT32 cards formatted for 512byte clusters
- fixed the bug that prevented water from spreading correctly after being loaded.
- new website logo, courtesy of sir Lobo !

... and I think that's it.

Yeah I saw your minimap suggestion, it was answered on the wiki actually. Basically : no, sorry.

As for your map being bigger, that's normal if you updated from 200811 to 230811. As I told others, you just have to go to the East to find your original spawning point.

Your freezing problem is more troubling though; what do you mean by freeze ? Does it just hang on the saving screen ? (it can stay there for a while depending on your cart) Or do you get a guru meditation error ? If it's the latter, then I'll need to know which version you're using, and most importantly what the actual error is (note down the pc and lr addresses). It would also help to know whether you're using a FAT16 or FAT32 formatted card, and how big its clusters are, but if you don't know that's ok.

Another nice update. The cursor is much easier to use, and it's great to hear we've see the last of that darn transparent block bug. Now that I've switched back to my DS2 and non-DSi mode after a while away, I notice in comparison double-tap jumping seems a bit less responsive in DSi mode. Not enough to be a big deal, just figured I'd mention it.
No saving problems here on my DS2, btw (FAT16 DSi).

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but the leaves and grass of a lot of 16X16 texture packs turn blue when loaded instead of green!

Im glad you said that about taptap jumping in DSi mode, i thought it was just me trippin'. The clouds go faster running through sudokuhax, too, so maybe timing is off a lil bit when playing in DSi side-SD styley.

Thanx for the update smealum, ive logged some serious hours into this homebrew for the past few days, it reminds me of being a kid and spending my time building huge lego structures =)

Ak2i on 3ds and dsi

oh and smealum while you release the source code?
Yeah, Bmcs reported the same problem... No idea what's causing it at this point since it doesn't even give a guru meditation error, but I'll try to look into it.

As for releasing the source code, eventually yes, probably. Right now it's a total mess so absolutely no way, but once the project gets to a point where I feel I'm "done" with it, I'll probably release the code.

Thanks for reporting; you're actually not the only one who noticed it, but you're the first one who linked it to DSi mode, and you're report is consistent with other feedback I've received, so yeah I'll try to look into it. !

I honestly don't know, but definitely not right now; fixing bugs is more important than adding features at this point.

Not really a bug, more of a lack of feature. The thing is, my current code assumes texture packs are complete and don't ommit any files, which I guess they don't have to in the PC version. So basically, where the PC version would see a file is missing and just go fetch the default one, DScraft doesn't and just screws up. I'll be fixing that at some point.

Anyway, for it to work properly, all you have to do is add foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png to the misc directory inside that texture pack's folder. You can get those files off other texture packs, like eldpack for example.

Also, thanks for posting and then just updating that news article; I was hesitant to post that v230811 for a moment because I didn't want to hog the front page.

Thanks for the update, Smea! It's a huge improvement!
EDIT: Also, are there any plans to give torches more than one position? I like the way they sit on walls in the original minecraft.

Today I have been working on this project for DScraft (called Paradise), in which I am building a map with this texture pack (it is cool).
So here are the screenshots (remember I have only started):

I will upload it once i done more!

By the way I am also building a city (which I only started building the roads), so it will take long for more work to be done!

Cheers!

also after 5 min.
the card is FAT32.
And dont know what is a cluser.
Du you mean the size of the card?
If yes: 4Gb

Ps: Sry for my bad english.....

If removing a water block is not a bug (so we can dig under it, right?), how to we remove it? just put a block and/or make a dam ?
Well I'll try making a dam after spreading water to see if water disappear automatically
tongue.gif
(see if spreading is always dynamic or not from the source).

Edit: just tested, it's not dynamic from the source, it's just each block generating his own flow.

A sponge block would be great to delete the water in one click.

about the minimap, can it be done on a different screen instead of a real time map?
Like Start menu -> show map around the user : create a top view screenshot around the player position (1pixel = 1 block)
