. Any AI behind that, or is it just a teaser.
He said something about being unsure if mobs can be done or not, so it's safer to say teaser right now.

okay, bug reporting!

on a water block surrounded by water blocks, if you remove this block and place a different block in it, all top faces of those surrounding blocks change into different tiles.

also, a suggestion. i dunno how workable this is, but maybe some sort of fogging mechanism to "hide" the popups? i know the draw distance is pretty much stretched to the limit, so maybe some sort of wraparound 360 panoramic wallpaper so that ground doesn't disappear into the sky or something to that effect? think of those early DS games where the horrible draw distance was hidden by fog/smoke/cloud mechanisms. those should do the trick.

oh yeah, another suggestion. i noticed that underground, there are sometimes vast expanses that look flat, if not for the gradual convergence of block textures up ahead. you can see all the way to the back just like it's right in front of you. this is in the dark, with no lighting, so i guess putting torches helps dispelling this flatness, but is there a way of maybe putting in some sort of gradiation where blocks look darker the farther they go, until it's all black or lit? because the main character right now totally has darkvision.

heh, that's all, i guess. other than that, i'm enjoying this a lot. kudos much, man.

Small request: Can you make it so if you have the bucket in hand while removing blocks you can remove water? Water's kind of a pain in the ass right now.
EDIT: Also, that cobblestone in the water glitch has happened to me as well. Just saiyan'.

That would be exhausting, removing water block by block? Each "piece" of water is made by so many blocks...

Hello,

I don't know if these bug have been reported, but when we place a light block at 0 to 4 blocks of the upper edge of the map, it crashes.
In the lower edge, it crashes when we delete the light block.
And finally, when we delete a light block, near the other edges, it becomes a little dark or it crashes sometimes...

When I say crash, I meen Guru Meditation Error.
And Light blocks are torches.
I hope I'll be read...

i'm experiencing something really annoying....

What happens is that, when playing for a long period of time, the game starts to acting really strange...

1- The depth of field is heavily reduced, and i stop seeing things that before i could see perfectly:

(Note that where the blue sky is, before, it was blocks of dirt and rock, they're still there, but as i said, the depth of field became very reduced)

2- After that, if i press Start, i can go back to the Main Menu (something that i couldn't do before, and smealum knows it)

3- I can use all the options in the menu, however, if i select a world, the world appears like this:

The only way to have the game working again is to restart my DSi...

A bit of both really. Right now all mobs can do is follow you or run around randomly, and this screenshot would qualify as teasing since I don't plan on releasing anything with mobs for a while... just testing stuff !

Yeah you're not the only one experiencing it apparently, though I've so far been unsuccessful at reproducing it.

Thanks for the report. The problem with using fog in this case is that there isn't a fixed drawing distance; my engine is designed to render as much as it can so the viewing distance varies a lot, and I'm not sure fog would work too well with that; there would still be some popping. Plus, fog would make the viewing distance seem smaller than it really is, and I don't think we need that considering how small it already is.

And yeah, that nightvision thing isn't very nice at all... unfortunately at the moment there's no way for me to do anything about it though; I'll try to think of something but I don't think it's feasible (at least using my engine).

The dynamic water system isn't done right now, it will be made to be more complete... at some point. I can't tell you when right now as I honestly don't know though.

Thanks for the report. I am aware of the bug and will try to fix it. Could you add it to the wiki's bug list ?

Thanks for the report, this is interesting (at least for the second bug, the first one I have no idea what could be causing it right now). So does pressing start work and do that every time now ? Are the textures also messed up in the menu ? And if so, have you tried loading another texture pack while the textures are messed up ?

And if I upload a special testing version to fix that acekard bug, will you be able to test it for me ?

Yes, it does. It happened two times, and the both times, it did the same.

No, they're not, the textures in the menu are ok, i try that too, to see if the problem were the textures...

Well, no, i didn't, but i'm pretty sure i can reproduce this again, so, i can try changing the texture.

Yes, of course, i'll test it
biggrin.gif

Oh, and btw, new stuff happened....this time, even restarting the DSi the problem was still there...but this time, much worse...the menu had no textures, just the sky, the clouds, the sun, the moon and the buttons, and i tried to enter the game, and the same thing happened, the textures were all messed up...

Solution: I erased the configuration file inside the DScraft folder, and erased all the textures i had... however the only texture i left was the one i was using since the beginning, and now everything is ok, at least for now...

But wait, there's more! Now that everything is ok again, the start button DOESN'T work.....

EDIT: Here we go again, the same problem. However, there's something interesting, i can say without any doubts that the problem is not caused by something done by me. I went to dinner, and left the game on, and when i left, everything was ok, now that i came back, everything i had in sight disappeared (depth of field), press start, but this time, i wasn't able to go to the main menu, i've restarted the DSi and when in menu, i changed to the eldpack, and done, everything works good.

However, i'm not satisfied, i will make it happen again, and this time i'll try to go to menu by pressing start, change to a different texture pack, and see how it goes...

That looks cool. I did something just like that except smaller.
You HAVE to upload pics of the stadium when done!

I'll upload the map as well...
That's why i'm going to build it big and full of places, so that people can visit...

In the pics it looks small, but it's not. Well, it isn't big either, and that's because if it was just a little bigger you wouldn't be able to see the entire field standing on only one place. Now, about the stadium i'm not going to input limits, it'll be as big as i can do it..

Heh, I don't even watch soccer but that's awesome. You should edit a texture so you can put a square soccer ball on the field somewhere
