Can anyone tell me a reliable source to buy a Mig Switch and Dumper from? The official website is dead, all the other websites I've read scam reports about, and Aliexpress doesn't have any listed.

Where the heck am I supposed to buy this from?
You can still get them from AliExpress, but the listings have gotten a bit more creative and obfuscated. When I bought mine I had to search for "Mige Switch", but that doesn't work anymore. It looks like they're now calling it "MI R6" or just "R6". Below are some listings I found that are currently up.

1.2.2 should be the latest and their official website is up. You might be looking the MIG Switch website, which is the old one, but they've rebranded to MIG Flash. Not sure if I'm allowed to link it here but since they call themselves MIG Flash now and official website is on .com TLD those two hints should be enough to guess which website it is.

Still no way to update games to switch 2 version to unlock higher fps etc right?
Unless the games get a free update you can’t pirate this

Or CFW and you sail the seas that way..whenever that is possible

For example my copy of Dave the diver works as the switch 2 version since it got a free update

Only if you transfer the update (via local version match) from another Switch 2 that it's not banned.

Transfering updates from S1 to S2 doesn't "unlock" the S2 features.

Hmm got my NS1 copy of Metroid Prime 4 Beyond but for some reason the Mig Dumper simply does not show the game content it seems. It shows the the System folder and the 1.2.2 file but nothing regarding the game.

Anybody else seeing this behavior?

I have tried different cables, ports etc.
And yes Mig Dumper is up to date as far as I can tell.
Edit; And of course game works just fine on NS1 and NS2 consoles.

You can't create a dump using Mig Dumper. You'll need to notify the Mig team to update the firmware.
You can create a dump of the Metroid 4 using MigDumpTool or nxdumptool on a hacked switch.
But you still won't be able to play on MIG with this dump (the game won't launch). You'll need to wait for a MIG firmware update.

Is this real?

Yes: dumped the game with multiple ways: migdumptool, nx-dumptool-rewrite, sphaira... none work with the migflash. Looks like it's stuck trying to read and just gives an error that the cartridge was unable to be read. (won't even allow you to swap to the next/previous game in the card at that point).
The migdumper won't even recognize the game either (tested with a 2nd game to ensure it was not the dumper)...
What I have not tried yet: using a trimmed xci or using a split xci (the .001, 002, 003 format). But so far, no luck (so will have to keep using the original cartridge to play if wanted to play).

Thanks for the headsup guys much appreciated. I dont have any hacked Switch at my disposal. So knowing this info is helpful.
The only reason I have the Mig dumper is to dump my own games as backup. (Do have a Mig Flash as well but meh ... not risking it on my Switch2 or 1 for the forseeable future)

I actually tried reaching out through the Migflash contact option but it noted issues and to try again later.

But so this is the first NS1 cartridge I came across I actually could not dump with their dumper (and I did rouglhy 450ish of them. As noted the dumper sees me insert the game, but the rom folder simply wont appearr.

So it seems Nintendo might be on to something to prevent the dumping using the Mig dumper from now on.

Either way I will try to reach out later to the Mig team, but if you guys find out something please ... feel free to let me know :)

I doubt it’s Nintendo catching on

This game is much newer than the last firmware we’ve had, and they’ve had to push updates in the past to fix other undumpabe games. It’s hard to program for all edge cases especially when one of those might not come out until a year and a half later on

Well it might look like they are.
It's not the size of the game (the witcher 3 complete edition was a bit bigger and works fine).
It's not the size of the file (again the witcher, plus even tried using the "split xci (with the 001, 002, 003... files).
It's not the tools not working , as they work with other cartridges.
The cartridge (when you have a fw installed lower than the 23.0.0) still tells you that you need to update your firmware to read the cartridge, so it looks like the cartridge is read up to some point...
So might point to something in either the specific cardtridge or the game code itself that prevents it from loading at all if not in the original cardtridge. Maybe they introduced some of the sw2 code in the cartridge, like having the game something in a sw2 partition or something... who knows.
Maybe finding what's doing might even open the door to reading sw2 cartridges too ...

Well ... Im not into the decrypting / decyphering of nintendo carts so I really dont know. But yeah the cart still gets read, so we have that. It just cant see it, so Nintendo could be doing something new, on a still readable cart. Or indeed the Mig Dumper, just misses a certain range, subset or instruction.

I have no direct hopes of it reading SW2 carts, would be neat though. (Main reason I have no hopes for that as that would be a new dumper product, which would net MIG more money in the long run, then offering that on the existing dumper)

As for what it is preventing us ... well a partition or new container or format does not sound that weird.

We will have to wait and see what the Mig team can do ... If I ever get to reaching them as
miglash.com returns; "Error sending message! Please try again later."whenever I have tried sending them info the past couple of days.

They've not responded to any of my emails since Nov 14.
