If the switch2 has a way to check if any cart pins are not floating during a cart swap, then the Mig may need a hardware update :)

Or maybe use the V1 MiG (if they are still available?). I wouldnt use one on S2 at all currently, BUT if i did... I would feel safer with using the V1, along with loading only one game onto the SD at a time. Which kinda defeats the purpose... but still.

I am really surprised the market isn't flooded with cheap clones of actual games from China yet. They could easily make a super mario clone and sell it for half price cart only. Most people wouldn't notice. Would end with alot of bans.

Also they would just have to check time it took to swap games to see it wasn't a true cart swap.

I guessing they could do it no problem, but it probably violates a trade agreement between China an Japan. Something along those lines.

don't worry, Nintendo will get smarter and issue ban wave every 2 or 3 month so people can't return it to store after get banned !

You do realize there will always be people who just bought there Switch, even if Nintendo does waves like you suggest?
Also, as mentioned before returning a banned console is fraud and most stores check s/n
Also, why would Nintendo care? They sold a Switch2 so they got their money. They don't have to take care of the resellers, if you (try to) return a banned Switch2 Nintendo doesn't care at all, this is just between you and the seller.

Why are people even still using this.

App Nintendo even bans accounts migrate to SW2 that used Mig.

Nintendo has gone insane

The Switch2 might very well be thr most anticonsumer product I have ever seen.
And thats saying alot when Apple exists.
* GameKeyCards (and forcing Thirds into em cause 64 gig phys are like 15$ a pop)
* Bricking your Switch2, because why the f#€% not
* Game prices for seriously halfbaked software beyond good n evil

Maybe Nintendo is now Sony

Maybe I should write Furukawa fanmail and ask what drugz he is doing

Have there been any confirmed reports of account bans

you'll get banned from online play. Dont use it
Yeah, I dont ever play online. I will use the mig when switch 2 game will be dumped(if ever lol)
For me the library on switch 2 is not that good at the moment, and play switch 1 on switch 2... i'm not interessted.

It would be trivial for Nintendo to always ban offending consoles 30 - 90 days after detecting illicit usage if they really wanted to make sure the consoles were past the retail return windows.

Again, why would Nintendo even care about people returning their banned Switch? As I mentioned before, this is the problem of the seller, not Nintendo. If they are so careless and do not check serial numbers on returns, it's their fault not Nintendos.

And no, I'm absolutely not trying to defend N here but the "bannwave against returns" theorie just doesn't add up...

Where do you think the console goes after the store takes it back? The retail stores don't eat the cost. They send it back to Nintendo.

Just realized I can't even buy a Switch 2 used because people might have used mig and are scared, so they just sell a bit lower while stocks are low. Paying $825 (official price) for a new in my country is absurd so I guess I'll just not buy one this year...

Feel free to buy a Switch2 and play some Mig on it :hrth:

Otherwise:

"So permanent, not even Nintendo themselves can overturn them"

Nintendium ftw !
Smells like BS. I don't think Nintendo can legally issue account bans in the way console bans are issued because they would be locking you out of all your purchases.
