Hacking MH4U Retail -> Gateway Save Issue

So now that Gateway has N3DS support I want to sell my MH4U on ebay. So I ripped the cartridge, combined the two .3d0 and .3d1 files with copy /b (with the extension .3dz) and ripped the save. I renamed the sav, slapped it on the SD card and it says its corrupted and needs to be formatted. I ripped the save again, renamed it again, it still says its corrupted.

What am I missing? I'm using a Gateway with the same version emunand as my sysnand.

It might be that gateway still uses the old save crypto.
