I am using the latest version of USB Loader GX in conjunction with the latest version of WBFS Manager. I have tried playing Metroid Prime on my backup copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy. Every time I try to go to the area where I get the Morph Ball Bomb (the room with the Stone Toad, the toxic water and the rising platforms), the game stops loading and I hear about a 5-10 second chuck of music looping in the background. I can't open any doors and I can't advance in any way. I've tried changing different settings within USB Loader GX but nothing seems to work.

I have tried loading the game from a 320 GB external HDD and two different 16 GB FDD. I get the same problem with both methods. It's almost as if the Wii stops reading the drive and the game doesn't have enough information to continue playing. In fact, this same problem has happened with a few other games as well. LEGO Batman, Scene It, and I think LEGO Harry Potter, too.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a fix for this? I'm wondering if it's my backup...

I've read forum posts about people not being able to load the game at all but I don't have that problem. Mine loads just fine as long as I choose the appropriate DOL from the menu.

I did some more reading on this problem and I learned that I needed to use d2x cIOS to fix a known issue. I did everything as I was supposed to and now I have a different issue in the same location. Now when I enter that area, my character (Samus) starts moving forward by herself and I cannot control it. I can't even use the Wii remote at all. It's completely unresponsive. So, I don't know what else to do...

Never mind! I figured it out! It was just my copy! I loaded a different copy of the game and it played right through the bad part and I was able to get my Morph Ball Bombs and more! Ha ha!!!

@Psionic Roshambo, The disc drive wasn't meant to be a cup holder to begin with. It does look like the place to put a cup on top because the tray has a circular outline.

RIP to those who use it for cups rather than discs.

After you hack it the drive becomes most useful as a cup holder lol

@Psionic Roshambo, Yes, since you can play the games off a HDD anyways.

I thought the hard drive bays were a good place to hide weed until the FBI confiscated my computer

@K3N1, You do know that the police have dogs that can sniff out drugs pretty well.
  • M4x1mumReZ @ M4x1mumReZ:
So using your hard drive bays as a place to store your illegal drugs is not the best idea.
