Why the FUCK have Nintendo not made it so one user/s can use the gamepad screen all to themselves and another user use the TV entirely to themselves?

This is when the GamePad could have actually been useful and instead the screen on the TV still gets divided into two parts for the 2 players. It's okay but would be better one on each.

Any comments on the music. I generally have liked the music on MK8 but if what I heard in the trailers is what is on the tracks I an going to be really disappointed. Tame and mellow.

From what I heard it's good so far.

As far as DLC songs that I don't like, it's only Dragon track it's not bad but not very appealing to me. So it's one of those moments that I wish Mario Kart 8 had the option to mute the music.

With 200cc and DLC 2 the game's almost the complete package but there's still two issues that need to be address:

1) Two items per character!
2) Release proper Battle Mode tracks!

Mario Kart 8 is more about strategy and luck more so than the rest and with only one item it's tough to stay in first place, hell, even if you keep snaking and doing them mini boosts that still can't fully guarantee the 1st place.

So how exactly does this work? Is it a rolling release across time zones at midnight? I assume if you already paid for it the download is automatic? do I need to just wait for it and is there any point staying up late or should I just wait until morning?

If the first pack is anything to judge by, it will automatically download (unless you have modified DNS settings on the Wii U, then you'll have to disable them to let the download through; check my sig for details)

They said April 23rd so I'm assuming by midnight (GMT time for me) that I'll be able to download it all by then. Instead of seeing it downloading I'll watch something to pass the time.

just a question. My brothers wiiu won't play mario kart after after he says his wife ran an update. It just stays on the mario kart 8 screen and never loads I have to hard set the wiiu to try again but it always freezes. Has anyone else had this issue?

Delete and redownload?

If that doesn't work maybe cleaning up the system or formatting but that's too extreme.

I have had it freeze a couple of times on the black intro screen. I clean the disk and then it starts. Check for scratches or smudges.

I agree formatting is an absolute last resort and I wouldn't do it without talking to Nintendo first.

Idk what was wrong it wouldn't update if it tried and wouldn't let you play unless it was updated. So I think it was powered down during an update and it was corrupt I tried deleting the data and just trying to re download it didn't work so I just factory reset their wiiu they didn't care about saves and didn't have any dlc downloaded thanks for the info.

Here in the U region, any new releases come out here at 12AM EST, which is 10PM for me, so less than an hour to go if they intend to release it at midnight!

Well, it hasn't downloaded to my system yet, although apparently from what I read on neogaf, it's supposed to come out at 4AM CST, so roughly 4 hours from now, although I'm wondering if it'll be when the eShop updates in the morning.
