It is recommended to keep your console as low as possible to have access to better jailbreak stability and features. Stay as low as possible within the "Golden" firmware brackets that apply to your current firmware, see the top of this page.

(No jailbreak is ever guaranteed. No developer is obliged to release anything publicly)

WARNING:

Only update OFW manually via USB by getting the firmware file from HERE and installing from <USB>:/PS5/UPDATE/PS5UPDATE.PUP
(Updating with RECOVERY PUP will perform a factory format and will wipe your internal HDD)

PS5 factory mode PUP installation path:
/usb/PROSPERO/UPDATE/PROSPEROUPDATE.PUP

NOTE: Make a system back up before attempting any modifications.
On console: go to [Settings] > [System] > [System Software] > [Back Up and Restore] > [Back Up Your PS5]

    Exploiting 1.00-5.50:
Enter https://zecoxao.github.io/luasauce/ or https://github.com/kmeps4/PSFree into google > click “Jailbreak" or wait for it to complete.

    Exploiting 7.00-8.60:

    https://soniciso1.github.io/pooP2JB/

    Exploiting 7.00-12.00 (-13.60 SOON):

    https://jordyidk.github.io/slopkit/

    https://zecoxao.github.io/slopkit2/

Debug settings will be loaded, and the package installer can be found under [SETTINGS] > [DEBUG SETTINGS].

  2. Important:
You will need a BD dive paired to your Slim/Pro console or an OG Phat model . Consoles must be on 1.00-13.42 to run this exploit.

Recommended ISO: Viktorious AIO Auto BD-JB ISO for 4.XX-7.61

    Exploiting:
1, Burn ISO to a blank BD-R or BD-RE > Insert into console > click on the [DISC PLAYER] icon.

2, Highlight [PIPELINE RUNNER] > click option 2 [Normaljailbreak-etaHEN-UMTX1.pipe] to auto load etaHEN ready for ItemzFlow.

ELF Loader uses PS5 IP: port 9021 / BIN loader uses 9020 / Jar loader uses port 9025

Debug settings will be loaded, and the package installer can be found under [SETTINGS] > [DEBUG SETTINGS].

  3. Important:
LUA entry point works from 2.00 to the latest OFW, but there is no KEX above 12.70 yet.
(A compatible PS4 game is required to launch the exploit on PS5. See below)

Your PS5 console must be activated to use save copying for PS4 games.
    1. Insert your game disc and, as soon as possible, make a save file within it.
    2. Copy the save files to USB, go to [SETTINGS] > [STORAGE] > [CONSOLE STORAGE] > [SAVE DATA] > [PS4 GAMES] > select the game save and copy to a USB drive.
    3. On PC, using a Google Drive account, make a new folder with the GAME ID of your game, and upload the savedata & savedata.bin files to that folder.
    4. Share the folder, set it to editor mode, share with anyone, and click "copy the link".
    5. Join the HTOS Discord group: HERE type "/decrypt", select "FALSE" for including SCE_SYS, paste or type in the Google Drive link, and press enter. The bot should begin mounting your save. (If it doesn't, paste in the link again.)
    6. Click "ENCRYPTED" to remove the Sony PFS layer. Download the generated files and extract the folder to your desktop (you should have 4 files in there and be named dec_savedata_CUSA[GAME ID]).
    7. Using REMOTE LUA LOADER, open the savedata folder, copy the 20 files within into your encrypted save folder on your desktop.
    8. Upload the encrypted save folder (now with 24 files in) to your Google Drive. It should be named "dec_savedata_CUSA[GAME ID]" where GAME ID is your games 5 digit number, and set it to editor mode, share with anyone, and then click "copy the link".
    9. Go back to the HTOS discord server, and type "/encrypt", hit "FALSE" for uploading individually, and "FALSE" to include SCE_SYS. Finally, hit shared_gd_link and paste in your link to the original save (4 files) folder. (If it doesn't, paste in the link again.)
    10. When this is done, paste the link to the decrypted save (24 files) folder, and the bot will encrypt the files.
    11. Resign the files by typing "/resign" followed by your account name on the console, or PSN ID associated with that account if using the latest OFW.
    12. Download the resigned files, extract the files to your USB drive and overwrite them into the savedata folder on your USB or external drive.
    13. Copy the saves back to your console [SETTINGS] > [SAVE DATA AND GAME/APP SETTINGS] > [SAVE DATA PS4] > [COPY OR DELETE FROM USB] > [COPY TO CONSOLE STORAGE] > select your game save folder from the USB drive and copy/overwrite old save data.
    14. Load LUA game again, and you should see the LUA LOADER screen.
    15. You can use "SEND_LUA.PY" to send the UMTX files to the loader.
(NOTE: Some games require manual loading of save game)

On firmware up to 7.61, you can now load UMTX/2 followed by etaHEN by sending the files to your console IP on PORT 9026.
On firmware 8.00-LATEST, you can connect with the REMOTE LUA LOADER APP to send debug notifications or FTP on port 1337.

  8. [UPDATED]
No longer needed if using latest WebKit (to 13.60) or BD-JB (to 13.42)!

    Important:

This method modifies the BD-J stack to allows BD-JB entry point to be re-enabled on consoles up to 13.60, for convenience only.

    Very Important:
This method requires your console to be jailbroken by another method first to gain access to alter the files.

    https://github.com/Gezine/BD-UN-JB

    Preparation:
Burn the ISO to a blank Blu Ray, insert it into the jailbroken console. Send the bdj_unpatch.elf to elfldr using netcat GUI to PS5's IP Address & port 9021 to unpatch BD-J.

(NOTE: DO NOT REINSTALL/UPDATE FW, IT WILL WIPE THE PATCH AND LOSE BD-JB)

Once jailbroken it is recommended to run KSTUFF LITE and SHADOWMOUNTPLUS at minimum to get you up and running.
(ShadowMountPlus: is an automated background auto-mounter payload for jailbroken PS5 consoles. Detects, mounts, and installs game dumps from internal or external storage, with support for UFS, exFAT, PFS, and nested compressed PFS containers)

Additional Information:

Blocking Updated with nanoDNS:
Set primary DNS manually to 127.0.0.1. Send latest elf to BIN LOADER using netcat GUI to PS5's IP Address & port 9021.

PS4 GAME INFORMATION:
OFW 1.xx cannot run PS4 games.
OFW 2.xx runs PS4 games up to 8.03

OFW 3.xx runs PS4 games up to 8.52
OFW 4.xx runs PS4 games up to 9.04
OFW 5.xx runs PS4 games up to 9.60
OFW 6.xx runs PS4 games up to 10.50

OFW 7.xx runs PS4 games up to 11.00
OFW 8.xx/9.xx runs PS4 games up to 11.50
OFW 10.xx runs PS4 games up to 12.00

OFW 11.xx runs PS4 games up to 12.50
OFW 12.xx runs PS4 games up to 13.00
OFW 13.xx runs PS4 games up to 13.52
OFW 14.xx runs PS4 games up to 14.00

(Note: PS4 backported FPKGs also work perfectly on an exploited PS5 with Kstuff)

You can install free/demo PKGS (legit pkgs) via the debug pkg installer, provided you have all the files/json/licences required.
(Astro’s Playroom has no licences and can be installed and played from official pkgs and updated inline with your firmware)

Warnings:

1: Never enable IDU mode.
If you do, you will need to enter staff mode by holding L1 + L2 and tapping this combo: circle, cross, square, triangle, right D-Pad. Release L1 + L2, and you can access settings to exit IDU.

2: Try to stay on the lowest FW possible and wait for hacks on that firmware.

3: Installing legit game PKGs you do not own will never work, even if spoofed.

4: If you get stuck in a boot loop at the PS logo, the SNVS is corrupted (if the hash check fails on boot, this causes a “soft brick”). It’s not “bricked”. Simply reinstall your current firmware RECOVERY PUP in safe mode from USB: PS5 > UPDATE > PS5UPDATE.PUP.

Pkg manager reading from disc but it slower than debug settings but this game install via disc in one hour only not 2 🤣🤷‍♂️ … but the menu is nice

3.6Mbs :O Oh sweet lord that's sooooo slooooooooow. My M.2 (Western Digital Black) was copying over at circa 270Mbs just fyi..

Talking of the Internal SSD, what's the general consensus with moving pkg's to it? I know previously we were advised against copying over to the internal storage through fear of KP's and the BSOD etc... Has that fear subsided now?

Yeah I believe so, the latest kstuff in Drakmor's discord comes afer he mentioned an m2 fix, so I wonder if there was an issue with m.2 slot at first.

All of my pkg files installed to system storage at first, I didn't even realise, but they worked fine. I've moved them to m2 since, then during some testing they stopped working. I'm guessing that was whatever was fixed, so I'm about to try the new kstuff and see if they load on my m.2.

Ed: yup, working on my m.2 now with latest kstuff 1.13 test.

Just plug-in a cat7 or cat8 between your pc/laptop and PS5. I've connected it via this method. The bottleneck is the PS5 because of the ethernet port. My laptop has a 2.5GB port and NAS has 10GB. I use Cat 8.1 for my whole internal network cause it can run a max speed of 40 Gbit/s using 2000 MHz. Max cable length is 5 meters.

Schematics:
NAS (10GB) > Router (10GB LAN) > 10GB to Laptop (2.5GB) > PS5

Alpha. The games and paths below are the ones I have tested on my console.
Other games may still fail. Please report them (see Reporting problems).

Highlights

  • Eight cores. Dolphin (GameCube and Wii), LRPS2 (PlayStation 2) and
PPSSPP (PSP) render on the PS5's GPU through PS5_Vulkan, beside FCEUmm, mGBA,
Snes9x, FinalBurn Neo and Genesis Plus GX.
  • PlayStation 2 at 4K. LRPS2 uses its Vulkan hardware renderer by default at
6x internal resolution, with multi-threaded VU1. The God of War II and
Final Fantasy X demos and GTA San Andreas run at full speed on my console.
You need your own PS2 BIOS in system/pcsx2/bios/.
  • GameCube and Wii. Dolphin 2609 with its JIT and fast memory. Wind Waker,
Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Mario Kart Wii and Rogue Leader are tested.
Wind Waker ran for an hour and RE4 for 30 minutes with no crash.
  • PSP. PPSSPP v1.20.4 on its Vulkan renderer with JIT: God of War: Ghost of
Sparta and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force are tested at 10× internal resolution.
  • 120 Hz output where the display supports it, with the correct 60 Hz fallback.
  • Faster save states. A 50 MB PS2 save state is written without stdio, which
    was the slow part.

Fixed from tester reports

ReportStatus in this release
Crash after closing a game (seen with an SNES game)Fixed. The video driver was being re-created on a RetroArch thread, and the console gives such threads only 64 KiB of stack. It crashed with Threaded Video on. RetroArch's threads now get 2 MiB, and the stack-heavy code moved to the heap. I reproduced the crash, then confirmed the fix on the console.
PSP game (Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters) crashing after one to two minutesFixed in the GPU driver: its internal lists were changed from several threads at once without a lock. A new driver test reproduces the corruption on the old driver and passes on the new one. PPSSPP ran a 10-minute soak with the menu opened 25 times and did not crash.
Every game at half speed with V-Sync onFixed. On a display that only refreshes at 60 Hz, the console accepted the 120 Hz mode and kept refreshing at 60 Hz, so each frame was shown twice. The driver now measures the real refresh rate and falls back to 60 Hz. My display is 120 Hz, so the 60 Hz path still needs confirming on a 60 Hz TV.
Rogue Leader crash after about three minutesFixed (a race in Dolphin's dual-core GPU FIFO).
With the half-speed fix, V-Sync on is the recommended setting on every display.

Stability work in this release

  • Every thread the title, RetroArch and the driver start now asks for an adequate
stack instead of the console's 64 KiB default.
  • Driver state that several threads can reach is atomic or locked. A debug-table
counter could write past its array when two threads recorded commands at once.
  • Before release, every core was run with a game: boot, menu open and close, then a
Quick Menu action, with Threaded Video on for half of them and V-Sync on
throughout. There were no crashes and no fatal signals.

Found this laying in the bottom of one of my draws of odd ends. Forgot I even had it lol

I’ll stick that into the 9.20 system when I find the time.

Not touched the 11.60 console yet. I believe ArkSama / Drakmor has an updated elf file for that revision?

And I’m still using Y2JB for 9.20 and BDJb for the 11.60 and not the WebKit exploit. Any guidance on what you folks recommend?

For those of you with a proper psn account with plenty of purchases and ONE ps5 that you've hacked - did you create a new psn user for the hacks?

Yeah I believe so, the latest kstuff in Drakmor's discord comes afer he mentioned an m2 fix, so I wonder if there was an issue with m.2 slot at first.

All of my pkg files installed to system storage at first, I didn't even realise, but they worked fine. I've moved them to m2 since, then during some testing they stopped working. I'm guessing that was whatever was fixed, so I'm about to try the new kstuff and see if they load on my m.2.

Ed: yup, working on my m.2 now with latest kstuff 1.13 test.
That's good to know that your m.2 is working fine with the 1.13 kstuff.. I'm already using the latest test build so i expect i'll also be all good now :)

Ah, those things, yeah that's ancient technology, barely worth anything. I can recycle that for you, no issues, I'll even pay postage...just...just let me take care of that for you mate. Let me know if you find more worthless junk in the bottom of your draw...

I think for 9.60 you can probably use webkit as your best option, although I'm on 6.02 so I can't use it and don't know how stable it is. I've been using y2jb, I have bdj too but I know my lua is technically the most stable. I just use y2jb to save my bd drive from spinning up constantly cos I'm too lazy to keep taking the disc out lol

Nope because my console is never going online again now that it's jailbroken so my existing user account is pretty much safe from a ban.

For what it's worth, I've been using an M.2 drive the entire time and I haven't seen any issues (or rather, any issues related to the use of the M.2 drive). I am curious what was fixed in the most recent test build, but it wasn't anything game-breaking. I have a hunch that it may have been related to transfer speeds.

A Cat8.1 cable for a PS5?! Holy cow, that is massive overkill.

The PS5's Ethernet port is only a 1 Gigabit (1000BASE-T) port. Cat5e is fully qualified to run with it for up to 100 meters. And for short runs you could get away with a bloody lamp cable so long as it had 8 conductors. :rofl2:

The slow speed of the port itself is the constraining factor. Higher spec cables aren't going to help in any way. It's one of the few things that disappointed me about the PS5 Pro: a 2.5GbE port would have been reasonable to include in 2024.

(Now 10Gbps between your NAS and PC is godly; but that's neither here nor there)

The current test version of kstuff from Drakmor is fully qualified for use on firmwares up to 11.60. So a specific file is not needed.

It's an overkill even for 10GBASE-T, where good quality cat 6a is more than enough, even for 100m long runs.

WebKit exploit for 9.xx and BDJB for 11.xx - have same here, dunno why ps5 pro 11.60 on WebKit exploit had glithes issues after exploit and mostely KP despite BDJB use

I'm trying to jailbreak mine on 8.20 for the first time. I've tried three times on sonic's poopsploit and I'm just getting the "not enough free memory" error. Even after clearing cache according to google. So I tried Zecoxao which loads the homebrew app screen....for about half a minute? Until the console gives the same error and goes black again. Seeing some comments about updating to 9.00. I managed to set up autoloader but even that's very unstable and can crash my console. Should I update my firmware or what? I clicked to load pkg manager and.. crash.

After much instability on 8.20 I brought it up to 9.00. I've only attempted webkit once but it immediately worked as it should.

Hold ya horses, on 8.xx you can use Y2JB you do not need poops... In terms of updating that's a personal choice... The general rule of thumb is to stay as low as you can subject to what you want the console to do... but the bottom line is you do not need poops unless you are 10.01 and over (old school thinking before Webit)... Webkit works on 9.xx but tbh i'd stay on 8.20 and use Y2JB for the moment...

I thought that required me to do a complete console reset.... but not according to what I'm reading.

Gezine has an image which you can restore and yes it will wipe your console.... Or you can set it up manually and you will not lose anything... It's been a long time since i did the manual set-up but the instructions are on the repo....

Webkit autoloader works like a charm here on my 11.40 CFI-12xx PS5

Webkit works Rock Solid on 10.01 Slim as well. No Problems. Near 100% sucess Rate... y2jb is good too but not such a high sucess Rate and Stability

But when I attempt to launch any of them I receive a "Can't start the game or app" error

Do you have any sucess with that Error allready? I will try older kstuff and sm+ versions because i use the latest test Releases...maybe it has something todo with the Firmware Version as well
