Lincoln police subdued a man with a Taser and pepper spray Tuesday after he allegedly threw a PlayStation 2 console at an officer.
An officer approached Timothy Jones Sr., 36, as he walked southbound in traffic on 17th Street near G Street at about 7 p.m. Tuesday. When the officer began to talk with him, Officer Katie Flood said, he lifted his shirt as if he had a weapon tucked into his waistband.
In fact, she said, he had a video game console and threw it at the officer, who sustained a minor injury to his hand, and then ran. During his attempted escape, Flood said Jones also threw a planter filled with dirt at the officer, swung a section of downspout like a bat and threw two metal chairs. Flood said Jones was picking up a third chair when an officer Tasered him.
