First off let me say Hello
I am a new user to this site and about to dive into the DS mod seen and I would like to get some feedback. So here it goes...

I am thinking of buying M3 Perfect SD (Slim) with Passcard 3 and wanted to know what kind of SD cards are compatible with it because I have a 4gb SD card and would like some input before I buy. I want to be able to play GBA and NDS as well as movies and music. That is why I am leaning towards the M3 Perfect instead of the nice DS-X. Any info would be nice. Thanks

What if I formatted it and created two partitions would that work. I tried view that link and they say nothing about creating two partitions. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I don't have a slot-2 card, Just learned of M3wiki when I was getting started, and when the news came out that GBAtemp was hosting it.

But if you don't want GBA support, Just get an R4. Best Slot-1 solution with 100% rom compatibility.

Not yet. But thats because no one has made it DlDi compatible yet. Just a matter of time. If you want emulators and crap like that, then I suggest going for the M3 and passcard, But if you don't mind waiting then get the R4.

Its up to you.

I am not entirely sure about the 4Gig cards but I have a few 1Gig ones and I have had issues with the Kingston 1Gig SD cards when using some homebrew, in particular nesDS. This may change with application updates but for the time being I am using a SanDisk for homebrew apps/games. I have heard PNY cards work well in the M3's as well.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
