Is there a safe way to test FIRM0 and FIRM1 protection?

I know it's there as I updated sysNAND from 10.5 to 10.6 on my n3DS, and 9.2 to 10.6 on an o3DS.

It's on 10.6, but I trust you all. Now I put D9 as arm9payload.bin u Der rei on my other N3DS, and it black screens every time I press L+R to boot it.

Are you using the latest version of A9LH?
The original version does not have screen init.

It now works, apparently FTP transfer corrupted the files, but thanks for the help!

I want this to be possible, but not to find out if emuNAND downgraded properly to 2.1, but just to mess with o3DS firmware on the n3DS

I've tried to use proper cetk and firmware.bin for 2.1 in cakes, it decrypts it right, but sadly it's not supported. Worth a try and fun to mess with it^^

I have a A9LH setup up like this: sysNAND 10.6 and emuNAND 9.2. I also have updatedsysnand so A9LH always boot to sysNAND.
My emuNAND 9.2 has MenuHax configured to boot the Homebrew Launcher.

Will my set up work to boot Gateway?
Does A9LH work with Gateway at all?

If you press L to boot into your 9.2 emuNAND then yes. You can use Gateway.

I've been told that's how people have done it, I don't have a Gateway to test it out.

Try this: http://www28.zippyshare.com/v/itPIH37X/file.html (I had increased the delay for detecting the SD card slightly because some people had issues with the FAT library and the previous delay, this restores it)
If it doesn't work format your SD (maybe you have some FS corruption in there).

You could use some partition tool to move the partition to the start of the sd card, then expand it.

- just copy everything from sd to PC
- format with sdformatter and under options -> format size adjustement to on
- then copy everything back from pc to sd

I think the objective was to avoid copying things back and forth and to just adjust the extra space with the active fat32 partition lool

Get another SD card and put AuReiNand into it, should boot to sysNAND at the very least.
Don't think you can boot without a SD card
