After learning the Kecleon patch for Luma only works with A9LH, I was pretty disappointed.
So I took some time and made these stealth builds of Luma 8.x

The current version is based off of Luma 8.1.
Features:
  • Holding START or SELECT on boot no longer accesses the payload selection screen or configuration screen, respectively
  • Config.bin is saved to CTRNAND:/rw/luma/. Move your existing Config.bin to CTRNAND:/rw/luma/, as you cannot configure Luma while using the silent builds
  • Crash dumps are saved to CTRNAND/rw/luma/dumps/

How To Install:

  1. Copy the Luma Stealth boot.firm to a sub-directory (not the root!) on your SD card.
  2. Boot into GodMode9 from B9S
  3. Delete your existing "boot.firm" from your SD card and CTRNAND (CTRNAND:/boot.firm)
  4. Copy the Luma Stealth boot.firm to the root of your SD card and CTRNAND.
  5. Copy your existing Config.bin from SD:/luma/config.bin to CTRNAND:/rw/luma/config.bin
  6. ???
  7. Profit!

This should allow you to maintain a 100% innocent SD card! If you notice any bugs, etc, let me know!

After installing stealth luma, how would one get back to GodMode9, or switch back to "regular" Luma to reconfigure anything?

I will test this.Amazing job. Will this also support locking out of region games?

I believe you just have to pop it in a computer and replace the Boot.firm with non-stealth Luma Boot.firm

Yes, or you could just replace the SD card's boot.firm with GodMode9 and rename that to boot.firm.
I am currently trying to re-enable booting payloads from the SD card with button combinations (up_GodMode9.firm, etc).

Blazingly fast! I didn't know you were a developer >.<
I suppose you're one of the famous contributors in contributing to the 3ds scene...I'll do some of my homework once I get back from work.
Once again, thanks for the fast work!
PS: are you planning to make it open-source? Or is it already is?

I would hardly call myself a developer, but yes, I will be publishing the source code a bit later. :)

Ok, I see now. So I guess a non-stealth boot.firm on SD card overrides the boot.firm on ctrnand?
Could a a9lh kecleon payload override the sd with a non stealth cfw payload from the ctrnand ? That would actually make it harder to detect.

This is great, thanks!

I found out a way someone could detect the 3DS running this patch and CFW is if you remove the SD Card while playing a game, the error will not be the standard "The SD Card was removed" but rather the Luma error message screen.
