nah man, you need a regular Wiimote, not a Wiimote Plus. Get a regular Wiimote and try again.
You can see clearly what Wiimotes are regular, or Plus. Otherwise, on the bottom of the Wiimote is a codename. It has to say "RVL-003", not "RVL-036". If not, you are using a Wiimote Plus.
