I have a question to the Gateway Cheat Plugin:
How can i save the activated cheats? Because actually i have to reenable all cheats i want on any restart of the Console / Game. The same with the Button Combination for getting the ingame menu.

Would be great if there were a method to save the settings.

Hello! Got a small stupid question and would very appreciate if someone would help me =)

I have recently managed to upgrade to a9lh and now got luma3ds+GW emunand setup. Luma is on the the latest 11.2 and i wonder if i can update my current 9.2 GW emunand to the 11.2 as well? I have read that if i update in GW emunand my console will brick. Is there no way at all? And if i manage to update, will GW and all the homebrew still work on 11.2? Do i have to update the red card somehow as well?

I know GW users are not welcome in the a9lh master race, but i love my games with cheats, because i want interesting stories and fun, not challenge =)

Peace and thank you for your time in advance.

Yes you can update your emuNAND, but make sure you're really in emuNAND (System Settings should say "GW" before the firmware) as updating in sysNAND in Gateway mode will cause a brick.

A quick (probably noobish question):

Is the Gateway worth getting yet? I am on a 2DS on version 11.2.0-35E and I am guessing Gateway won't run on it. I am just wondering when/if there will be a point in time where I can justify buying one. Is the 3DS homebrew/flashcart scene ever going to be as abundant as DS?

If you plan on cheating all the time, yeah, it can be worth getting. In all other cases no, you're just going to pay for more annoyances.
Follow the guide to get a free and mostly better alternative: https://3ds.guide/

(Note, any CFW can be installed on your 2DS, even Gateway, but what I said still applies).

Gateway still have stuff that other cfw isn't able to do (in game cheat menu, .3ds loading...)
So yeah if you want to cheat/load .3ds (not useful) so yeah it worth it.

It really depends on what you really want to do with the games. Normally Gateway is useful if you're trying to load ROMs in .3ds format and rather not install them onto the SD card, or if the SD card is low size (eg. 2GB). And if you're okay with it being only capable of detecting one emuNAND on an SD card, then Gateway 3DS could be a good investment. But if your main purpose is to use an emuNAND and to play games, and have a decent sized SD card, then using Corbenik or Luma3DS CFW would be a better option, since they also can read multiple emuNANDs stored on an SD card.

I'm pretty sure I've heard there's some other apps that enable cheats as well as RAM editing. It might've been NTR CFW interface or something, I can't remember well.

It doesn't make sense to say that Gateway is a good investment for if you have a low capacity SD card. Why buy an $80 flashcard to avoid buying a $15 32GB SD card? That's like buying a car to save money on bus fares.

Yeah, I've really forgotten how much Gateway costed, compared to a 64GB SD card. It's been a long time since I last bought one. ^^'

I am not really interested in using cheats, just having the convenience of running backups of games since at the moment I need to keep scwitching out different SD cards in my 2DS. Is the compatability of 2DS games stable enough? I can get a large SD card easily enough but I don't really want to mess around with CFW especially trying to install Gateway with that method since I heard things go wrong in that regard. Also I don't know if I can even run Gateway on my current firmware.

Well if you don't care about cheats, Gateway is useless for you.
And don't think "yeah but it's easier to setup than a CFW", because Gateway is a CFW.
And don't think about installing Gateway using their guides because they are far worse than 3ds.guide (except that 3ds.guide doesn't aim for a Gateway setup and you have to use this afterwards https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-with-gateway-on-v2-a9lh.431691/).

Apart from that, compatibility with games is 100%, for freeCFW or Gateway. And both don't really run on latest firmware. I mean, you could use soundhax+safehax+emuNAND (at least to run Luma, not sure if Gateway runs too) but no one does that.

No it doesn't you'll get a black screen. Same as with rxTools.

I don't use GW, but I'm interested to hear how Nintendo have patched GW/RxTools. Have they just cut it off it's entry point? Killed the Emunand?

I can't find anything on it apart from insults or threads stating they're patched (and not much else).

They finally increased the minimum NFIRM version allowed by NS: https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/11.3.0-36#NS
Which, IDK, they could have done a lot sooner, but you know, didn't, until now.

I installed a9h+luma. I was using gateway before. Can i recruit the save files in the gateway? I had .3ds and .cia games installed into it. I've backed its sd card before installing a9h(there is a guide in the forum but it involves using gateway emunand and i dont really wanna install an emunand)

Another question, i had another sd card (i didnt install luma3ds into this) and it had a .cia game savefile. It was a legit copy from e-shop. Can i recruit its savefile?

I think you need a working Gateway to be able to convert saves, at least if you follow mattkimura's guide.
