Lego Harry Potter Collection announced for Switch

IMG_0972.JPG

The latest of Nintendo Switch re-releases has been announced by WB Games, and it's been revealed as the Lego Harry Potter Collection. Previously rumored due to a leaked U.K. retailer advertisement, the game has now been confirmed, and will be launching on October 30th. Both Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 will be included, as well as two DLC packs. The games originally released in 2010 for last-gen hardware, and then were given a remaster in 2016 for the PlayStation 4. An Xbox One version was also announced to be releasing on the same day, and will have 4K enhancements.

I remember having a hard time playing Years 1-4 back when I graduated from Middle School.
Eventually finished it before High School debut.

I hope they'll bring an "enhancement" upgrade to the Steam version....

I was wondering about these lego titles just a few weeks ago. They fit the system perfectly, especially considering how many kids like playing them co-op and the Switch's two joy-cons. Would've been neat to see a new entry to the series though, but I guess you can't go wrong with Harry Potter (nor Star Wars) :P

I wonder which series would get a Lego treatment next, if there would be one.... which do you think would be best?

WB has sooo many IPs to work with. Seems they have the rights to make Scooby Doo video games, and I feel like that'd work well for kids, and in a lego theme. Maybe Looney Tunes or something?

The should release a collection of the Harry Potter Gamecube games until prisoner of Azkaban.
I like the light hearted-style of the Lego games, but it is not fitting for such an interesting story like Harry Potter to be told with slap stick humor.

Hard to think that a game about colorful plastic can be fun, but I have a lego game or two and I like them. May get this at some point, must be good if it earns a remaster.

Would be nice if this got a release on PC as well. The last Lego game I played on the Switch(Lego City) had bad frame rate drops even with the update installed due to the hardware not being powerful enough, issues not present on PC or other consoles.

So far, there are only few worth playing games on the switch, the rest are either ports or games that you check and delete that I won't even play on a smartphone. We want real games, we should boycott Nintendo...

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
