Delete account to undo account - but still potentially have some of its heritage (savegames signed with keys) on the system.

The backup thing youre so desperately looking for is part of hekate, and the first step before modding a switch. Buy a 32gb SDcard just for that (format to exfat (hekate has exfat drivers, it will always work, regardless of firmware)).

Out of curiosity, what do you need restore in Kefir for? To memorize and go back to a better time? Not to have to read the four pages of this thread that tell you to backup savegames separately? For when you are bored?

Here is the thing - if any of the restore 'wishes' have to do with 'not getting banned' -- its simply hard to know where Nintendo stores and read information from that makes you ban-able. With an account thats on 100s of systems, and it creating savegames - chances are - that it might create something that potentially could be caught by Nintendo. That doesnt just go for this case - that goes for any case of installing a nsp, or altering your system storage in any non official way. If you have done that - the only way to get back online, and not be banned is to restore a clean backup of the entire system (nand).

So why do double that?

Logic goes as follows. You only need this feature of Kefir, if you cant go online (f.e. because you installed pirated content). It tains your system (account on 100s of other devices). If you want to reverse it - you'd still have a tainted system. If you could reverse it , you'd still have a tainted system (nsps of games installed, probably). So what the heck are you asking for?

All your worries get solved, by having a backup of your clean NAND - which you obviously havent. So what do you want to achieve - that we can already tell you that you cant? And would know about, if you had read the install guides. And this thread.

Your question is announcing 'I don't know what this is, I'm doing, or that I should read a four page thread, before asking questions' in about 10 ways.

The best I can give you is a 'millennial badge of honor' for expecting an undo function in everything tech related. But sometimes - you know - you have to have backups. Before you do a thing. And to have them - you might have to read a thing. Ngh.

If you want to 'undo' because you lost save games - tough luck also, the information on how to backup those - is in this thread already (Checkpoint - and then a little more in depth information needed to restore them, so read that as well).

Btw. If you are an EdiZon user, and EdiZon crashes, after you've injected the new account using Kefir, you have to use Checkpoint to delete all your old savegames. Kefir keeps them on the system, but deletes the account they are linked to - which makes EdiZon crash. If you delete all of them in Checkpoint - (after backing them up hopefully - and potentially restoring them to the new account), EdiZon will start working again.

That information afair isn't in this thread so far. :)

There are questions that hurt you in the brain, even two weeks after they have been asked.

Imagine 5times eff you at this point.

Now that I've done - I have remorse.
Now that I haven't got a full nand backup - I have remorse.
Now that I have read the irresponsible tip - of someone just linking Kefir, without mentioning, that you should at least back up your savegames. You mask that.
Now that you have shown, that you didn't read the four pages in here (where backing up savegames before using Kefir was STRONGLY suggested) you mask that.
Now that you havent read the Kefir thread - as strongly suggested you mask that.
Now that you have ignored the Kefir warning messages and yes-chained yourself all the way through them (you will loose what you have, you will loose what you have, you will loose what you have), you complain that you cant find the 'undo' option. That doesnt exist?

Now that you have fundamentally not understood anything about your switch you want us to fix that? *aggression*

Ok - here is what you are dealing with. If you didn't back them up, you've lost all your savegames.

You now have a donor account on your system. An activated account that only should exist once - but probably exists hundreds of times on different consoles.

All your future savegames will be created and 'signed' with this account, if you made it your main one.

All of that is a f*cking top shelf ban risk. If you EVER go online.

The alternative would have been - go online. Once. (And get banned if you don't know jack about what gets you banned - and you had pirated .nsps installed)

So which is it? Undo - to still not be able to go online?

Undo to get your savegames back - which you cant?

Undo to get to a clean nand state - which the nand backup is for, that you CLEARLY never created?

*aggression*

Kefir is there for Switches that are meant NEVER to go online (or at least not without restoring a clean NAND backup first), or for emunand partitions, that are never meant to go online either (unconfirmed, never tried it on emunand, but I presume it works).

Other wise - why didn't you just go online? You mean you had a perfectly legit switch, and legally downloaded a game that requires an activated account, but didn't have an account that was activated online? Hows that gonna work?

Also - yes, you can get rid of this account by deleting it - but also understand, that every one of your savegames you created with this account is probably signed by it - and that is a flag, if the system ever goes online (because that account is in use 100s of times, instead of once).

And if you ever delete the account and all savegames in the future - its still not certain, that you don't get banned going online afterwards - in fact it is still very likely. Thats why we treat our clean nand backups (or clean nand partitions, if also using emunand) as 'raw eggs'. Because you never can get back to that state, once you've tainted it.

Got it? Good.

FK in my coffee.

edit: Factory reset would also work to get rid of it.
notimp, I actually already have a nand backup I made prior to kefir and I followed the steps posted in page two by IBNobody in this thread it was an easy process considering I backed everything up on Checkpoint.

Why are you posting 3 replies with several paragraphs of your deranged insanity for a simple question regarding backups of which no one else asked on this thread?

You seem mentally unstable notimp and sure are proudly proclaiming how aggressive you are. Are you okay dude?
Instead of inferring I would suggest you crawl back into your mom's basement and brush up on your reading skills as I never did any of the things you posted and I didn't make that post 2 weeks ago.

I will gladly bestow upon you a 'boomer badge of honor' for getting irrationally upset over a simple question posted on a thread and making quite a few assumptions, take your elitist attitude elsewhere.

Thank you pcwizard7 for the simple and concise reply to my simple question.

I should note i own two switches one that is so new its patched and will most likely never be hackable so i use that to go online if need be while my hacked switch is offline only so idc if kefir profile is everywhere. for me kefireupdater did the trick and fixed my "link an nintendo account" dialogue that games pop up

Rambling?

(Here is what the rambling part was. Me pointing out _every_ single way the request of 'I did look for undo option, I ddn't find any - what did I do wrong *lol*' was nonsense. Then I was accused of writing too much. Because I didn't have the pleasant interaction of asking the person on the other side 'which particular brand of nonsense is your specific reason for demanding an ultimately nonsensical, and even harmful thing? (While you all the time could have had, what you asked for, by restoring the NAND backup you now tell us you have.)

Oh you know me - old rambler - thinking through all five reasons a person might want a thing, and dismissing every single one of them - before acting all personal, giving them a cake an a kiss, for having come up with something that doesnt make sense.

Of course -

'I did look for undo option, I didn't find any - what did I do wrong *lol*'

- never is tl;dr. Funny how that works. If you don't know why we might dismiss your contribution of 'I ddn't find undo - lol' go home. Try again. And moderators - you didn't act correctly here.)

lol @ notimp having another fit, this time directed at the mods.
Feel free to dig your hole deeper continuing to derail this topic. Drugs are bad mkay.

It is possible that a new version will come out, that DOES NOT erase all the SAVES and PROFILES already created ???

1: Before making the linked account - save game saves with checkpoint.
2: Make the linked account - reboot the Switch.
3: Now go to your system menu, and delete your game save for all the games.
4: Start the game - and then exit.
5: Open checkpoint and restore the game save.

4: Start the game - and then exit.

Emphasis on this part, make sure you start every game you want to backup the saves to, only have to get as far as the nintendo logo.
And of course make a nand backup prior to using Kefir and you should be good to go.

Its really not that much of a pain. you back up all saves in checkpoint. even and option to backup all at once. run kefirupdater. go into data management and delete all saves. then just run the games to title screen on each new profile and when done go into checkpoint and restore each save. takes about an hour to do 2 profiles.

The saves get orphaned, they aren't lost, you can recover them with checkpoint at anytime. As for changing the account data in the save to attach to the new account or simple edit the current account, I don't think the re has been done to know how to do that yet.

Hi!
When you link an account, kefir requires the console to be online to download some files. Is it possible to do this offline somehow?
Thanks

Does incognito interfere with this at all? Should I use this to link a fake nintendo account and then use Incognito? Or would using incognito at that point wipe whatever this did?

No need to manually delete or move anything if you do not migrate from one OS to another.

Just unpack atmo.zip for atmosphere or sxos.zip for SX. Simple as vodka

And sigpatches, and other soft for daily use, such as Checkpoint, Tinfoil and others

It is for updating from 1.0.0-3.0.0. Some guys has trouble with this on new atmosphere. Maybe I need t use sxos pack for it, I will think about it.

You are wrong. It is about simplifying of users supporting and for our vodka-guide
There is no place to kefir on gbatemp, so we do not bring it here. Use kosmos, why not. If it much simpler and better for you.
We made kefir to help russian-speaking community. No ego, no patreon, no drama. Live with it.

So, I installed this on my Atmosphere 0.9.4 via emmunand. How do I get back to Homebrew without going through hoops and redirecting the Payload? Holding the Right Trigger does nothing on any game or Album. Also, Album does not go to Homebrew Menu, either with or without holding down keys. Since I got the Linked Accounts to work. I lost access to Homebrew. So, I resolved one issue to be shown a new one.

Alright, this software needs to come with some Caution. It works, but overwrites the Payload and puts it's own splash screen upon bootup. It displays Kefir Updater boot image instead of Atmosphere/Sept. I had to delete the Atmosphere, Boot Loader, and Sept folders to install my original. It did install a new profile that is linked to the eshop. So, I shouldn't really complain, but was annoying to see this done without letting me know before hand.
