Bond may be faltering on a return to the big screen but he's set to make an appearance in one blockbuster next year as leaks have revealed James Bond 007: Blood Stone, a new action game, is coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC courtesy of Bizarre Creations.

A mix of third-person gunplay, hand-to-hand combat and the driving action we usually associate with Project Gotham and Blur developers Bizarre, Blood Stone will employ key members behind the long-running series.

Daniel Craig takes the lead – bringing with him the gruff physicality introduced in Casino Royale – and he's joined by Judi Dench and Devon's own Joss Stone. Stone will also be providing the soundtrack, with an original song penned by her and the Eurythmics Dave Stewart called 'I'll Take it All'.

Multiplayer will also feature, with various modes supporting up to 16 players and pitching spies against mercenaries.

The leaks come courtesy of a post on a Dave Stewart fan site, which has since been pulled but was spotted by the ever vigilant Neo Gaf.

Meanwhile, work on the latest Bond film – which was to be directed by Sam Mendes – has been indefinitely suspended as a by-product of studio MGM's financial woes. But Bond's alive and well in the game world, with a reimagining of GoldenEye also coming to the Wii later this year.

Activision has declined to comment on the leak.

Most of the James Bond games in general have been good, with Nightfire easily being my #1 or #2 game of all time. Even some of the "crappy" ones like Quantum of Solace were pretty good. Hopefully this will make good use of the license and also provide a great game.

No one can with GoldenEye 007 N64. We want a GoldenEye by Rareware (not Rare).

Rareware is long dead. It won't happen. And even if it did they wouldn't make it like the old Goldeneye since people find the old Goldeneye "dated" now compared to these "modern FPS games".

But with that being said I found Nightfire to be a superior game to Goldeneye. Fortunately for us Eurocom (the same guys behind Nightfire on home consoles) is behind the new Goldeneye, so hurrah.

But hey, if you want Goldeneye you can just get Perfect Dark on the XBLA. It has all the Goldeneye maps and weapons and the Perfect Dark engine is only a modified Goldeneye engine.

I thought the title meant someone leaked a game rather than just news about it.

I even had a pun so bad you would bore your eyes out:

It looks like...
...someone really dropped the Bond on this one.

Confirmed and detailed.

There is also going to be a DS version by n-Space...so n-Space are doing two Bond DS games this year as well as a Call of Duty game.

Santa Monica, CA – July 16, 2010 – Award winning artist Joss Stone is set to debut as the newest Bond girl in Activision Publishing, Inc.’s (Nasdaq: ATVI) James Bond 007: Blood Stone, an original Bond experience from legendary screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. In addition to stepping into a leading role, Grammy and BRIT Award winner Joss Stone will create original music for the game, luring players into an explosive third-person action adventure where they will unravel an international conspiracy across exotic locales. Players will experience full-throttle, behind-the-wheel action on land and sea while using the most high tech gadgetry known to James Bond 007, the world’s most skilled secret agent.

“James Bond 007: Blood Stone captures the cinematic intensity of a Bond film by immersing players in an intriguing conspiracy that will require them to think and act like James Bond,” said David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. “In addition, the game will feature a diverse array of multi-player modes and debut strategic objective-based gameplay that will allow Xbox 360, PS3™ and PC players to battle as teams of spies and mercenaries through authentic Bond locales.”

James Bond 007: Blood Stone features the likeness and voice talent of Daniel Craig, Joss Stone and Judi Dench and features an epic, original story developed by legendary screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. Players can engage in cover-based firefights, lethal hand-to-hand combat and speed their way through explosive adrenaline-fueled driving sequences as they embark on a global chase leading to action on land and sea through Athens, Istanbul, Monaco and Bangkok. Gamers can also feel what it is like to be a 00 agent, as they take the battle online in several robust 16-person multi-player modes that require skill, teamwork and strategy as players compete in matches that will have spies battling mercenaries.

Joss Stone provides an original musical track to the game titled, “I’ll Take it All” written and performed by her and Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. The song will be featured exclusively in James Bond 007: Blood Stone.

The James Bond 007: Blood Stone video game is being developed by critically acclaimed developer Bizarre Creations for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Windows PC under license from EON Productions Ltd and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (MGM). Additionally, an original Nintendo DS™ game is being developed from the ground up by n-Space. For more information about the game, visit www.007.com.

Also Dave Stewart is awful.

Glad to see someone else appreciates nightfire as much as I did.
I remember setting the kills to 100 adding a ton of bots and going around the snow map in the trolley thing.

Rareware became Rare. They're the same company.

And Rare[ware] won't ever be what it was when it made DKC games up to Conker, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, etc on the N64. Many key people not only the company but most likely the industry altogether. A bunch of them went off into Free Radical Design (now Crytek UK) and made Timesplitters though (they're also doing the multiplayer for Crysis 2).

Case in point, it won't happen in a million years. Don't worry though, Eurocom can make a good game if they put the effort into it. They did it for 007 Nightfire and they did it for Dead Space: Extraction.

You can't possibly know that.
Look dude, the last time I made a venn diagram was to prove that nachos are not showers. Now as we all painfully remember, that coincidentally happened to be the spell to summon a diarrhea demon.

Who knows what could happen if I try to make a venn diagram of the whole earth!?

How do you know this sucks? Rareware only made one Bond game. One. There were a bunch of others out there and a lot of them were good (look for Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, and Everything or Nothing, all are pretty good). And we haven't even seen a screenshot of this game, the only thing we know is the title, that it has a Daniel Craig as Bond, and Joss Stone is doing the theme song (aka that time in the game where you jam the Start button to get past it).

Go play Nightfire and come back to me with your "new" opinion on how this game may be. Until then your argument is ill supported.
