You just want a bigger 3DS? Could be easily done if you can find a 3DS with a capture card installed. They're no longer being made, so they might be expensive.Basically turn it into a gaming computer
They're still being made, Loopy has one for the n3DS XL and it's still possible to get optimize kits for other modelsYou just want a bigger 3DS? Could be easily done if you can find a 3DS with a capture card installed. They're no longer being made, so they might be expensive.
not even a higher res screen supported by homebrew software, or adding a faster, more powerful chip into the motherboard with the same base coding so the system functions normally?3ds lacks any ability to be anything more than it is. let alone some sorta viable computer. No, it wont happen.
It's possible but only for homebrew FIRMs. And i mean only. No Horizon OS. Everything Nintendo software is totally hardcoded for the resolution of the existing LCDs....higher res screen supported by homebrew software...
Horizon OS is the Nintendo Switch operating system tho...It's possible but only for homebrew FIRMs. And i mean only. No Horizon OS. Everything Nintendo software is totally hardcoded for the resolution of the existing LCDs.
They're both called Horizon. https://gbatemp.net/threads/somethi...oes-the-3dss-os-have-an-internal-name.526092/Horizon OS is the Nintendo Switch operating system tho...
Knowing that 2016 phones can run citra on android pretty feasibly I bet there's already someone making a prototype in a basement somewhere :vSounds like you want a gaming PC in a 3ds shell
The main bottleneck you are gonna run into is size constraints. Look at the steam deck - those components aren't gonna fit in that tiny form factor
That isn't to say it's not possible - your best bet would probably be to somehow use smartphone components in a 3ds shell and basically make a high end phone gaming station inside of a 3ds
Come to think of it, some of those NUCbox thingies are getting ridiculously small, and one of those motherboards could actually fit into a 3DS shell (with a little trimming, like removing the ethernet ports). The only problem would be the cooling (not much room for the cooler) and battery life (the standard DS battery would give you... five minutes?).Sounds like you want a gaming PC in a 3ds shell
