Hacking Is there a reason Wii U USB helper is really promoted?

I'm fairly new to Wii U modding. Spent a lot of time playing with vWii and getting a USB Loader set up with Wii and GC games and overall it was pretty easy to follow especially as I'm not the most computer literate person.

I then had look at Wii U games and I was lost completely, I attempted Loadline but I just didn't get it, I tried another method that was all about getting eshop tickets and WUDs and again completely lost.

I had almost given up when I saw a guide for Wii U helper which was as simple as download the game and install it via wupinstaller, it was almost too easy I was waiting for something to go wrong?

Am I missing something, is there some big downside to using it because so far I've managed to install 600gb of software onto my HDD and play it on the Wii U with no issue whatsoever (bar Mario Party 10 for some reason that game just doesn't work)

Ok Well that's cool then, just wondered why it's not really promoted very much, I only found it by chance but it seems like that most easy way to get Wii U games playing

Well Wii U is dead for over 3 years and it requires a reddit workaround to get it to work, and most of the good exclusive Wii U games are on Switch. Those are probably the reasons. I don't know who you expect to promote it honestly.

from what I remember, the original dev behind it left the scene, which is why a workaround is needed.
