Hacking Is the iTouch and Sakura dual boot still supported?

I want to get my friend an iTouch DS for Christmas, but the guy who makes the dual boot for the Sakura firmware no longer supports it (he sold his iTouch). I was wondering if there's anyone who's still updating it for the new firmware that comes out. If not, is it easy enough for me to do myself? (I'm not a total noob.)
