I can verify that it is in no way possible except if you have the card with internal processor (acecard 2, I think). There is/was a 'ds version' for a gba emulator but it was slow and buggy. There is, however, a version packed for 3ds which runs fine.
As for the thread:
I only use my blue card for ds download play games, like when friends come over (they don't have a 3ds's, only ds lite's) and sometimes to replay old games. Ahhh, nostalgia. It's pretty fine trough and got it running on my 9.2.0 3DS XL (flashcardtimewarp.cia)
Build quality (at least for me) is pretty good. I don't like the Gateway Red card sticker trough, It's weird how it was pasted over the sd card cutout and it's quite weirdly placed. (It's tilted).. OCD?
