Ever since i bricked on of my sd cards by taking it out of the computer without safely removing it, i've been paranoid about taking sd cards out of anything. So i was wondering if its safe to take out sd cards while playing in the middle of a game. Right now i'm turning the whole thing off and then taking it out which is pretty inconvenient.

Unless it is currently wirting to it, then yes it is saved. If you're saving something on it, it might get corrupted.

Use a proffesional formatter, unlike windows built-in shit

They aren't f*d they're merely corrupt. Any decent formatting tool can sort them out.

Furthermore, there's nothing wrong with the Windows formatting tools if you know what you're doing. If the drive doesn't show up in 'My Computer' go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Comp Management > Logical Drives, and right click the SD card or USD drive. Format as FAT and/or assign a drive letter.

You could also use a search engine to learn about FDISK (Windows) and CFDISK (Linux). CFDISK on a Linux 2.4 Kernel is about as good as you can get. It's always good to learn things.

I have a problem with my SD card. I decided to install some wads on my Wii, so I tried with my old SD Kingston of 1 Gb (the same I use with my Supercard), but my Wii does not recognize it. I tried to format it to FAT, FAT32, no only from Windows, i use other programs too but with no results.

Then I decided to buy a new one, a micro SD Kingston of 2 Gb with adapter but my PC not recognize it!!!, but my Wii can read it!!!! WTF!!

I´m really lost, i´m trying to format it with HP USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL V2.0.6, from Windows and Hard Disk low Level Format Tool, but they dont recpoognize this card, just the old one (!!!).

I´m using the built in card reader of my Epson CX4500, if that mathers.

The most crazy about this is my Wii who can read the new SD but not the old one, and the oposite with my PC.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
