I've been trying to install a wad to my freshly dumped nand on my wbfs/fat32 patitioned usb drive with the wad manager 1.5, but it just won't work. I always get the following:
">> Finishing Installation... ERROR! (ret = -1017)"

what can I do to fix this? I already tried trucha bug restorer as I read that this would often fix -1017, but it didn't.

It is formatted FAT32 and it works fine with other homebrew... I wrote ntfs by mistake.

It doesn't work if you use WAD Manager to install a WAD on a NAND dump with cIOS38 rev15. Use cIOS38 rev14 instead.

The WADs I nstalled this way give me black screens. The ones that already were on my dump can be played.

That was probably what was wrong as I'm running cios38 rev15. I'll install cios38 rev 14 now and try again.

Installing worked fine with rev 14. But some games still give me black screens and freeze when I try to start them.

Are your IOS's up to date? Also, what are you using for loading VC/Wiiware
I don't really know if I'm up to date... I'm on 3.2E and the Homebrew Channel says I'm on IOS36 v.4.18 ANd I'm using the newest Triiforce MRC.

EDIT: I simply changed the loading method and everything works fine now. Thank you everybody who helped me on here.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
