as the title says it came with a nice surprise, as the sellers description said this.

Every item sold has a high % chance of a free gift being thrown in (while supplies last).
now i expected maybe a mario keychain or something like a extremely common snes game considering i paid only $10 for the game shipping included but no it was this!

Illusion of Gaia was one of my favorites growing up. I must have spent over $50 in total all the times I rented it (and back then $50 got a lot more in rentals around here). I still haven't played Terranigma though I've heard great things about it. That's a pretty cool free gift!

First when I saw the topic title I thought "wow, you now have Illusion of Gaia, you should be happy!" and then I see you got Terranigma, a very good surprise indeed!

I liked both games a lot

I never played Soul Blazer a lot though, I only revived the town one time. I should go back to play it one day.

Enjoy your two games when you'll play them again (or will it be your first time?)

Edit:
I checked his ebay.
Evo is a very good game but .. $74.99? what !?
I would have bought other games but not evo for that price.
(the most expansive I bought was FF6 retail for 100$, it was the import price back in 1994. I got mana and Chrono trigger for cheaper.)

I got both games for 5€ in a retro shop.
why would anyone reproduce them, are they so much rare in the us?
at least in Germany they are not: http://cgi.ebay.de/Super-Nintendo-SNES-Ter...=item1e63acd876
Terranigma was never released states side, so our only option is to import the English pal version or get a reproduction cart.
well that or pay $100+ for a snes flash cart.

Well, so have a lot of fun. Terranigma is really a good game, with a nice turning point about your little buddy...

What's up with these reproduction carts anyway? Never heard of them before. Are they flash cards with a NTSC patched PAL roms flased?
they are original game pcboards with the rom chip replaced with a burned eprom that has the game copied to it(in the case of snes reproduction carts this is several eproms soldered together, for nes repro's this is only 1 or 2 chips)

Oh I see. Wonder if the game really runs at 60Hz NTSC since eeprom has nothing to do with the video mode, but with the game binary itself and its NTSC protection code.

it should run at 60Hz, like USA imported games run at 50Hz on PAL console. I installed a 50/60Hz switch on mine, it runs 17% faster and it removed black bars

the console determines the speed, and 60Hz is what ntsc systems run at so the game runs at 60Hz.
if Terranigma has any sort of copy protection(like some import games do to detect it's running at the proper Hz for the region) the it has been patched at rom level some how to be bypassed, though i haven't heard of any protection like this on Terranigma..

I think only MarioRPG had a real console version checking, it worked only on USA consoles
frown.gif

no 50/60Hz modchip or adapters worked.

A friend bough an additional USA SNES only for that game cartridge.

I think other games checked only the frequency. you just needed to switch it before booting.
It should be patched in your ROMs before they are rewritten to reproduced cartridges. (I didn't know these kind of cartridges existed).
