Hacking If your getting a DSi, are you keeping your DS Lite?

Possibly so. I might be playing GBA and DS games with it anyways and possibly using the DSi only for the newer DSi only games.

Certainly. I bought an M3 Real and M3 Perfect in order to play every GBA- and DS-game, and now I want to keep using them. If I'd buy a DSi I'd probably get a flashcart like the EZ-Flash Vi, but I'd primarely use my DS Lite.

Sure! Why not? First, I could save my money to buy another DSi to play DS games that can require 2 players (eg. Pokemon series. I could trade here and there using my DSi and DS Lite).

Second, I could play my favourite GBA games on DS, and I can play my favourite franchise like GUitar Hero, migrate pokemon from the past series to D/P/PL.

I'd most definitely sell my DS Lite if (and that's a big if) I get a DSi. There would really be no use for it aside from GBA games, and since I have more than 1 system that can emulate them at full speed I'm set for life. I can still see myself playing GBA games 20 years from now!

EDIT: Although losing the ability to migrate to Pokemon D/P/P may extend the life of my DS Lite a little bit longer.

i dont know why you wouldnt keep it since theres still so many flash cards for it out there and you can still play you gba games on there.
