I'll try to make it short
I had Luma3ds on my 2ds
installed majora's mask 3d, it needed an update but before thaat it said that it needed a system update
after the system update it shut down and when I turned it back up it said something like ARM11 an error has occurred
to make it shorter, I looked up a few sites about how to fix it but none worked so I thought that if I format my sd and delete all the files it might 'reset' the system
deleted them, didn't work, despaired a bit and tried to recover the files but it weren't the files I needed
so now I'm left with a 2ds that I can't boot up and an sd card without anything on it
I would just want to know if I can do anything to save the 2ds, I don't even care about the files that were on it

are you on b9s? you may have done a lot of damage by deleting everything. you need the latest version of luma to boot without that error.

gotta say first, I'm an idiot about all this stuff so I might get some things wrong
if I remember right there was something like b9s mentioned when I was installing luma back then
and I didn't know about needing the newest version of luma until it was too late

sooooo... bad news and good news
bad news: the files on my old pc were for setting luma up but not the finished stuff/backup
good news: one of the files was some kind of backup for godmode9 so now I have the 2ds on factory settings
still, thanks for the effort

Hello. I've been having the same issue as well however I haven't deleted anything yet. I'm pretty sure downloading the new version of luma will work for me as well but just in case do I just download the new version and boot it through Godmode or do I do something different in the case that I still have all my files?

Just download the latest version of Luma (v10.2.1), extract the boot.firm (and the boot.3dsx if you will) and put it (them) on the root of your SD card replacing the older one(s).

And, then, if you want, perform this guide:

https://3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup.html

No need to delete anything, but replacing at much.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare

@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
