The last I heard of it they reached their goal of 2,000 or whatever and then they asked for a little more because the costs were more than expected or something. After that I heard 0 amount of news since then.

What the hell happened?

The amountgotchanged, they made it $2,500 to have money to actually do some work with it afterwards and yo supply a 3ds, guess they lost the original one?

Succinct image summary of fundraiser.

So it was all a scam. Weren't there like 2-3 known devs that vouched for them since the beginning?

http://n-dev.net/donate.php
This still shows $2000 donated.

They got 2k, and then asked for some more. After someone donated the extra $300 (and posted proof) nobody heard from them, so they probably ran with the money.
I never heard of someone donating the remaining 300, much less all at once. When did this happen and do you still have a link?

I'm hugely surprised the fundraiser is still front paged on 3dbrew still. Why hasn't anybody taken it off?

Even if they got the money i don't think it would do much good. The cash will cover decapping on very basic level, might need multiple decapping to happen so more money.

I doubt that cash would include running the chip and probing it also (the most us full thing). I think at best you will just see some close up pictures of the insides on a chip nothing that brilliant.

More money then possibly something cool but yeah if people are expecting some Jtag sort of hack from this for the money they are trying to raise i would say thats very unlikely.

What exactly where you guys expecting as the result? The scans, if any exist, will probably be shared with those who could make use of them and that's it.

As a side note...
The fundraiser will remain open until it raises approximately 2,300 in order to pay for the decapping and the applicable taxes. Thus the fundraiser is still running.

Total Raised: $2000.10 USD

yes ,scans ,why wouldnt they? they were promised scans if they donated

as a side note, gateway team appreciates your donations

Any promise of a copy of the scans that were on that page are basically gone. From what I remember from the original page, they would consider giving donors a copy of the scans. Considering is the same as a maybe, or a promise.

What you MIGHT get is not the same as what you WILL get for donating.

Yeah, no updates since like July, neimod vouched for this, and megazig vouched for neimod. I considered it likely true at that point. PS4, xbone, maybe car payments, mortgage/rent, new bad ass pc? Need that money for something, lol. A guy did say he gave the final $300. Nobody refuted that, no updates, no replies...what do you think?

They were considering it, they promised nothing.

That, and sharing this kind of informaton could be considered "industrial espionage" by some courts.

Industrial espionage? Publicly, a company decaps it, they could turn it down if it was illegal. Sharing hacks and bypassing console security, using unlicensed software, roms, .iso; more worried about legal action based on those things.

This isn't simply a matter of hacking, it's about sharing a copyrighted design of a chip.

that is like saying that if i open the hood on my car and take photo of the engine and upload it to instagram that i am committing "industrial espionage"
