First i restarted the game game for some reason i spammed a then an update menu came up.how?
At that point you will likely brick. Especially given the 5.0.0 update changes every title and re-encrypts with a new key. No matter what if you do that something will break. Can you stop the update by force shutding down the console?
I hihgly doubt that you will brick by this. (But I never tried it so...)At that point you will likely brick. Especially given the 5.0.0 update changes every title and re-encrypts with a new key. No matter what if you do that something will break.
It's not that easy without a power cord to yank. Maybe the update process disables software shutdown to reduce chance of brick. Can you stop the update by force shutding down the console?
Powering off a console during update is one of the few ways a normal console user can brick their system. When literally every title is being updated and being given new encryption keys, you'll at best end up with a frankenfirmware that has parts of it broken, or at worst you'll corrupt critical system titles and completely brick the system.I hihgly doubt that you will brick by this. Force shutdown is not controlled by firmware. That's what it works in any situation. It's not that easy without a power cord to yank. Maybe the update process disables software shutdown to reduce chance of brick.
But it doesnt, which is why you have cases of people needing to remove batteries. It's software based and therefore is prone to inconsistency, and possibly control.Force shutdown is not controlled by firmware. That's what it works in any situation.
I never said it cant be controlled. It us just not controlled by firmware. But it doesnt, which is why you have cases of people needing to remove batteries. It's software based and therefore is prone to inconsistency, and possibly control.
Pretty much yeah,Does this mean i would never able to use homebrew on my switch?
Especially with this update. And definitely with the upcoming switch revision with hardware exploit mitigation.Pretty much yeah,
From what I understand Nintendo really did a great job this time.
