i suppose you're right, but still, people went to watch Shrek and they were mostly entertained by good 'ol Eddie (Jerzy Sthur here. He's my favourite polish actor and his version of the Donkey was one of the rare cases when the translated dub was as great as the original).

Sort of my point. They went to watch "Shrek" (movie title) to be entertained by the Donkey once they figured out that he's just... a more approachable character.
