I bought my Wii U but updated to 5.5.2... I could hack it these days and installed sysnand with haxchi. Now I'm trying to install rednand but it isn't loading the fw.img file. Do you know how can I install rednand from the beginning in 5.5.2? I see this tutorial is for updating rednand but I would like to install it

Edit: Nevermind, I realized it only works with web exploit. Working now

I got auto-boot Haxchi that auto-loads rednand, will it work if I follow this tutorial and update rednand to 5.5.2?

Wow!, i have some trubbles to do that......

I need some help, i try to explain the method im trying.....

I Run rednand (like always) and go to update system (I have all the apps, thanks for the link), when starting, pick "Not Now", back to check to complete the download and when its downloaded going to ftpiiu Everywhere and i see 4 folders and 1 file (digest.bin), my wiiu its a EUR model, so the folders are:

0005001b10051000
0005003010010a10a
000500301001220a
0005001010041200

I got the folders and put on the sd ........ so ...lets go the Wup Installer Part...... (Here is the problem).

- I downloaded some diferent versions of WupInstaller and the result its allways the same: Its not a game, dlc or game update...

When i use the recomended 1.0 version i see in the screen: Its not a game, dlc, gameupdate...... and when i try to exit the program. takes me to the mii editor when always go back to hbl..... ¿?!

so i tried some versions of wupinstaller with the same result..... (The exit program probles only with the 1.0 version)

Any idea?

How can i install this files with system config tool or other tool?

Thanks!

OK, here my method...

- Looked at titles and version of 5.5.2 here for your region,
- then download needed titles with NUSGrabber using command: "NUSGrabber.exe titleID version",
- then use a modified version of WupInstallerGX2 to install system titles (just need to modify line 262 in "src/menu/installWindow.cpp" from "bool spoofFiles = false;" to "bool spoofFiles = true;" and compile. BE CARREFULL WITH THE USE OF THIS MODIFIED VERSION!!!)
- Then just go to settings menu and come back to wiiu menu,
- Enjoy!!!

I hope this will help.
there is no source code for wup installer gx2 availible any more

Can someone help me with this, I'm unable to install the files.
I'm on 5.5.1U, I get to to part 3,

The guide states the files should be in
/storage_mlc/sys/update/0005001010041100/
/storage_mlc/sys/update/0005001B10051000/
/storage_mlc/sys/update/000500301001210A/
/storage_mlc/sys/update/000500301001A10A/

but when I ftp in my directory list is:
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/0005001b10051000
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/000500301001a10a
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/0005001010041100
/storage_mlc/sys/update/nup/000500301001210a

As you can see my directory has "nup" in the path, I'm not sure if this matters.

I have tried tried Crediar Wup installer 1.0 and put the file from the folder(s) listed above into the Install folder ( each folder at a time )
and get mcp_installgetinfo error
file files downloaded though the system are as follows.

Does this look right?

I have also tried to putting the 4 folder into the SD:\Install folder and tried using WUP Installer GX2 get error: Install failed (folder name) Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder.
and WuUP Installed Y Mod 1.3 and get an error MCP_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2 Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder. Try power down.

If I let the system update by itself though the system I get Error code: 162-4023 and the update fails. Can still boot to RedNAND after the update fails.

I have also tried downloading the update files with Uwizard and for the most part the files are the same but they are missing the file extension and (.app, .h3) and the title.tmd is called tmd.560. etc.
I get the same errors listed above.

I have also tried to use OSTitleDownloader to download the update files to see if there are anything different but I an getting java.security.InvalidKeyException: Illegal key size I think related to the common.key file.

I have been at this for a few hours with out success

I have also used wupinstaller_y_mod_without_blacklist and still nothing.

Can someone please tell me what the heck I am doing wrong?

Just to add my 2 cents... I was also struggling with this...I use redNAND/mocha not linked with sysNAND. I followed the original steps but was getting error messages with WUP Installer 1.0. I also tried installing SystemConfigTool following several guides but that was also giving an error messages. When I downloaded SystemConfigTool the zip file also included a copy of WUPInstaller but it was called 'WUPInstaller2', I tried using this to install the update following the steps in the first post and it worked. I assume the bundled version of WUPInstaller2 has already been modified as described in post# 13? Either way it worked so i now have redNAND running 5.5.2E and sysNAND running 5.5.1E. I'm not allowed to provide links but if you search for the SystemConfigTool download you should find the zip with WUPInstaller2 included. I hope this helps someone...I spent ages trying to get this to work.

Ill try and post back.

Found the App, if you search youtube for "[Wii U] How To Install SystemConfigTool" by DarkFlare you can find the link to the file.
Then followed the directions in post 1 except O I used OSTitleDownloader to get the files we need.
I do Have a question though, are we not allowed to host links to WUPInstaller2?
Anyway thanks Romag

Just curious, what happens if you are on 5.5.1 redNAND and you try to update to 5.5.2 the official way in the Wii U menu? I assume you get an error or something?

Yep, errors then restarts.
Hey there.
I just want to share what I did when I faced the problem of not being able to update my sysnand not being able to install anything to emunand nand.
It seems I did something wrong so my mocha weren't able to write to emunand.
After hours of trying to install the update manually by many different tools I tried something else.
I searched for the latest iosuhax image and booted the emunand with it...
No problems at all... The system just updated finde with no errors.
Worth a try if you have update problems.
