Hello Folk

I`m trying to figure out how to use Haxchi and Signature Check hack without need to have GamePad connected.

Anyone knows about some method? Please write it here.

the gamepad has to be on, because the ds vc requires it. i remember reading of n64 contenthax somewhere, maybe it's possible to port haxchi over it? i don't know, but i'm interested in using the pro controller with haxchi because of shortcuts. The homebrew launcher itself only supports gamepad and wii remote, but it would be handy to be able to launch apps from haxchi with the pro controller

found this forum -> https://gbatemp.net/threads/a-method-to-load-fw-img-or-mocha-cfw-without-gamepad.457990/page-3

they have a threry that by modifying the Haxchi DS title meta.xml you could remove the need to have GamePad connected.

Will be good to see if this could bypass the GamePad connectivity check

edit the meta.xml of the DS VC to remove the gamepad limitation
This should work
Code:
<drc_use type="unsignedInt" length="4">1</drc_use>
thank you, i haven't noticed that thread. i'll try that tomorrow

P.S.:
I changed my mind and did it tonight with ftpiiu everywhere, it kinda worked. I can boot haxchi without gamepad, which is cool, but, at least with my configuration (default to homebrew launcher, a to sysmenu, b to padcon, x to vwii homebrew channel and y to hidtovpad) always booted to sigpatched sysmenu, even if i wasn't holding the a button. This could be disappointing for some users, but for me it's very handy: if you have a game that need sigpatches and you don't want use the gamepad, just open haxchi using either the wiimote or wii u pro controller and it will autoboot into sigpatched haxchi cfw! i'm sure wii classic controller would work thr same way, but i haven't tested it so i can't say for sure. Of course some could say that this is useless because of coldboothaxchi, but i think this is safer for who lives with other people that could accidentally delete it or something. Shortcuts from gamepad still work fine, homebrew launcher loads without issues. This was a nice find, i'll copy this message as a reply to the other thread.

Oh, i was forgotting that i use haxchi with legit dr kawashima's brain training PAL

Is there a way to have the wii u pro boot straight to loadiine.elf instead? Ill try the meta edit now to remove the need of the gamepad..

This cannot be done with the Haxchi installer. I also recommend trying this on redNAND, though you shouldn't brick your console as long as you follow these instructions correctly. Also note that you will need a GamePad to pull off these instructions.

On your PC, install an FTP client if you haven't already. (I recommend FileZilla, as it works for me)
Put FTPiiU Everywhere and Mocha CFW on your SD card. (you may be able to use Haxchi CFW, but I'm not sure if this provides the proper services for FTPiiU Everywhere to work)

Get the Title ID of the program you installed Haxchi on and are about to perform this operation on.

Launch your CFW and open FTPiiU everywhere.
Connect to your console using your FTP client.

Navigate to the folder "storage_mlc/usr/title/00050000/<insert second half of title ID here>/meta"* and download meta.xml to your computer. Rename this first copy and label it as a backup, you can use this file in case you screw something up. Now download a second copy of the file.
* If your Haxchi'd game is on a USB drive, replace storage_mlc above with storage_usb
Perform the modification as described above, on the second copy.
Upload the second copy back to the Wii U. Close your FTP Client.
Exit FTPiiU Everywhere, exit HBL and restart your console.

Marvel at your brilliance. :D

Thanks for this! I will try it now and ill post it worked for me. I do have two quick questions, I have two haxchi, one for loadiine and other hbl. One is on Brain age the other is kirby mass attack. How I find those ids or they should be the only two since i havent brough anything else from eshop? Also would this work to edit the meta on Miimaker so gamepad not needed, or will touching that brick it? I test mods in loadiine and notcied I have to keep picking MiiMaker after loading loadiine once from haxchi.otherwise it freeze everytime i pick haxchi to bring up loadiine again after first boot.

If you plan on modifying system titles, then make a hardmod backup just incase something screws up.

Otherwise, don't try to touch system titles at all.

Has there been a safer method for this yet? Or just modify the ds vc titles only(and leave miimaker alone)?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Whats the title id for kirby mass attack and braing age (the us 7$ one)?

I tried editing the xml but it gets stuck on Wii U Menu launch screen after launching Haxchi (if the gamepad is off, else it works fine) :/

Edit: I got it working by making sure that i got a=sysmenu and default=sysmenu in my config.txt for Haxchi.

Hold on, once I upload the edited meta.xml to the wii u how do I save it on there?
If you grabbed it from installed game on NAND, you must use FTPiiU everywhere to insert edited meta.xml in that DS VC game. [Remember to delete old/or replace meta.xml of this game or it will become corrupted]

I did all those steps but didn't work, in the code <drc_use type="unsignedInt" length="4">1</drc_use>

>2< was changed by >1< but it keeps needing gamepad,
I used fillezilla and checked the meta.xml it was saved correctly
my wiiu is USA NTSC
I tried 2 legal games : brain age, and big brain academy. but didn't work in any case
Do you know what could be falling?

probably because I made it days ago

That is awesome.
Been a long time since I modded my wiiu to haxchi only. Do I simply install this over the old one?

Or do we simply replace the files on the sd card? Thanks

Edit: Found installatuon instructions here:

https://github.com/piratesephiroth/haxchi

Edit 2: Installed over original haxchi and now working perfectly without gamepad.
