Anyone lives close to a Nintendo Zone which will distribute the demo ORAS ? Maybe if we clone the mac/ssid it will work anywhere to get the ORAS demo.

Quick question: Is it normal for my e-shop not to work while I'm using homepass? It is saying that the e-shop is not available in my country for some reason. Granted we don't have an official e-shop, I didn't have a problem connecting before. SSID: NZ@mcd1 , password protected.

I'm seeing this problem as well -- pre-update I had both 3DSes (mine and the kid's) going through a password protected attwifi SSID (Sanoxy repeater setup), no trouble accessing anything through the 3DS. I've switched to NZ@mcd1 as I have to have password protection (high density urban area) and now neither 3DS can connect to the internet through the browser or access the eshop. (Miiverse connects ok, haven't tried image share) I'm assuming this is a permanent issue? Does anyone know why it's doing this or how to fix?

Edit: just saw the above post come in, I'm not talking about Nintendo Zone access, but the system browser. NZ never worked for me with the old setup.

If it isn't fixable, I'm looking at switching back to attwifi w/o password protection and whitelisting all the household macs but if everyone is switching to NZ@mcd1 will anyone still be left homepassing on attwifi? Not being able to use the browser or eshop without switching internet connection and restarting the 3DS is just too unwieldy for the kid. Not to mention annoying for me.

Only windows users can't use unprotected AP. Also they are unable to set the hardware MACs. So if you're planning to use the static MAC just with unprotected AP just stay at ATTWIFI and publish your MAC at the Tane's google document so others can visit you.
If your router is compatible with my script then you also can stay with attwifi and setup it to change MACs at night time, the new version also changes SSID in pair with MAC.

Upd: fixed several script typos, DD-WRT (Broadcom) and WL500G should fork fine now. Atheros need to be checked by someone please.

I ended up purchasing a NETGEAR WNDR3300 router with DD-WRT already installed. I'm waiting for it to get here which won't be till friday. So all I have to do is run that
wget -O /tmp/nzone.sh http://nintendozone.no-ip.org/install; chmod +x /tmp/nzone.sh; /tmp/nzone.sh BASE16,GBATEMP
command in the control panel of DD-WRT and it'll swap macs on it's own?

Yes it should. But there may be a problem, I can't see DD-WRD build newer than 14896, it may lack of MAC change support at kernel driver.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvvH5W4E2lIwdEFCUkxrM085ZGp0UkZlenp6SkJablE#gid=2 has it on the hardware list, so I think it should be fine, right? Has there been any reports on dd-wrt losing mac address changing abilities?

I experienced troubles with DD-WRT 13xxxx-14xxx with MAC spoofing but that was on the Atheros-based router. I can't tell for sure was it a kernel-level limitation a driver-level. I can't say for sure what was meant on the google docs page, MAC spoofing itself may be supported but may require a reboot, that is not a good option. If you are already ordered it, just wait for it and we'll see how it works. There is no hardware limitation for sure, because I'm using the Asus router with the very same Broadcom chipset model.

Well here's hoping for the best. The guy isn't accepting returns on it.

Search for the lates version of the DD-WRT

Oh and one more, I just noticed this is a dualband router so we will need to fine-tune the script anyway. It is a good idea to have an Android phone with 2.4/5GHz wireless support and WiFi analyzer installed at the time router arrives.

As I've said before, I don't have an android phone. I have an android tablet with only network support however. I don't believe it supports 5ghz. My laptop doesn't support it either. The router has the latest version of DD-WRT installed as stated in the description.
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) std-nokaid

WL500G custom firmware (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B0IgNylGYpqsT2NNN1NZZXNOelU#list) is available for RT-N16 and will work. If you do not use any specific Tomato features you can just update to it and use my script.
Also if you with to keep Tomato AND have a basic Linux experience you can help me to make the script work with Tomato.

Updated to that firmware; and am attempting to run your command. It's giving me this error:
Connecting to nintendozone.no-ip.org (75.180.137.248:80)
wget: server returned error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
chmod: /tmp/nzone.sh: No such file or directory

Please check your DNS Server, it is not the actual IP.

Fixed, now it's giving this error:

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
